I think Game 4 was honestly officiated worse, but arguing that it was more one-sided is indefensible

I don't deny Cs got some home cooking, but this wasn't as poorly officiated as game 2 and wasn't on the level of game 3 in the '06 finals (and I agree the series as a whole wasnt the screw job many purport it to be, and it's sad Dallas didn't win a single game after that).

He totally lawyered up in technical BS with his disdain over bron's 6th but not pierce's 6th. "he matters more". Gmab.

And it's obv false that a blown foul call in the waning seconds of a tie game that both gyps the team of go-ahead FTs and gives the opponent a 5v4 situation on the other end is MUCH more costly in terms of win equity than slanker James getting a weak foul out in OT.
see, it's a lot more "trollish" to try to turn this into one call vs another call. Lebron's 6th was awful but it would be fine if that was the only issue with the officiating, but you know this already

Absolutely terrible that the refs missed a call at full speed when you easily confirmed it was the wrong call after multiple replays including some slowed down to 1/4 speed.

see, that's the problem I have with the '06 finals: they had mother****ing Wade in full attack mode against a team of jumpshooters, they're going to get a ton of FT's. Same thing applies here, but add Lebron and the fact that the previous day Rondo was talking about fouling being a great strategy.

FTA is meaningless

When every game your team plays your main players get every call and never get calls against them, obviously one called fairly will look like a rig job.

I don't think FTA is meaningless, but I acknowledged that it's obv not as significant as a lot of people think. Anyways, I'm just trying to say that when you look at the stats for the two games it's more understandable for C's fans to be pissed off than Heat fans. The PF difference in game 2 is pretty substantial.

it's obviously not as significant as a lot of people think, yet you did the exact same thing as those people

it was pretty funny when rondo (a POINT GUARD) said smth like "they didn't hit the ground enough" and after the game everyone against boston is like "omgomg rondo said theyd foul more what did u expect?"

just thought that was funny, esp when said with a straight face

you're going to have to explain to me how there's no relation between "we need to foul more" and boston actually fouling more. Even if you believe Lebron payed the referee out his own pocket you had to expect some foul disparity.

Also, Wade attacks the rim a lot in general, but especially back in 2006. He absolutely should have gone to the line a lot in the finals in 06. He also still benefited from some horse**** calls. Just the way it is.

my first post on the subject. and you're delusional if you don't think being more physical implies fouling more

I was saying that. That Rando is too much of a skinny punk ass ***** to put Labron/Wade on the ground is a great point, but don't think it is a stretch to assume that he said that because it was something talked about it in the locker room and/or because he was hoping that his teammates would listen to him and do it.

ya im assuming he just meant that when you foul, make sure its hard. put bron/wade on their back. and it was f'in pg who said it. not like the bigs came out said we gotta foul a lot to beat these guys.

it doesn't matter who said it, obviously Rondo didn't mean that he, personally, had to foul harder. You don't think he shared that with the rest of the team? Or that the team mentioned it before he said it on tv?

Re: NBA ECF: Heat vs Celtics

I can't believe there's so much griping about the officiating going on in here. We seemingly go through this every year. And yes I've contributed my fair share so it might not be fair for me to complain but really what's the big deal? Miami got every call in the world to go their way in game two and won a close game. Boston got some calls to go their way in game four and won a close game? Why is everybody acting so shocked?

Quite frankly I'm more shocked when a team gets unfavorable calls at home like what happened in the NBA finals in 2010. The refs were tough on the Lakers in game two in LA but then super kind to them in game three in Boston to even things out.

Re: NBA ECF: Heat vs Celtics

I think both game 2 and game 4 showcased the complete ineptness of NBA officiating. However, while game 2 stole Boston's opportunity to win, the refs in game 4 at least gave the Heat the chance to decide their fate - first with the Battier 3 and then with Wade. Point being, game 4 officiating not as bad as game 2 officiating imo.

Regardless, I'm seriously considering giving up on NBA for a while. No other sport has such blatant disregard for the rules. Pretty sure Van Gundy disagrees with like 70% of the calls in every playoff game. Pathetic.
