Never seen it before but I'm pretty sure that guy represents at least 90% of New Yorkers - a paradigm if you will

Stuff Celtics need to do to win Game 7
1. All starters have to score 10+. Preferably 20+ for at least two of them.
2. KG must get 12+ rebounds.
3. Rondo must get 10+ assists.
4. Pietrus has to be relevant by drawing charges or shooting 3's. Preferably both.
5. They have to hold Wade and Bosh to less than 20 a piece. Bron will get his regardless.
6. Someone other than Rondo must guard Bron in the post. This tilted the **** out of me yesterday.

Goodie's expert analysis here is almost enough to make me pull for Labron. Not quite. But almost.

He certainly doesn't have the clutch resume that folks like Jordan, Bird and Magic have.
Jordan was a failure for a while.

Magic had tons of help and wasn't a "take the last shot" type of guy anyway.

Bird was preternaturally clutch.

None of these guys had nearly the type of microscope LBJ has on every game he plays. Basically, what I'm saying is that they are not comparable. The closest comparison to LBJ skill-wise is Magic and LBJ is both better and better in big games than Magic, although his team has never been NEARLY as good (especially relative to Magic's competition).

Ray Horton coming through and nailing it, look for his posts here and at his website www.themother****ingTRUTH.com/COMEGETSOME

another point I like to add is that jordan wasn't guarding Derrick Rose one night and Dwight Howard the next, MVP point guard and undeniably the best center in the league.

does scoring 45 pts in a closeout game on the road , with the pressure of the world on your shoulders not considered clutch ?

The 4 basketball players who have had the most written about how not clutch they are are Wilt, Magic, MJ, and LeBron. Magic got ripped for a solid year or two for choking in the Finals against Boston, and the media narrative with Jordan the first 4 years of his peak was that you can't win a title with him as your best player because he shoots too much. It's just something that great players go through when they don't win a title right away. In about 2 weeks, LeBron will have his first ring at a younger age than Jordan did, and everyone will forget that this clutch argument ever came up in the first place.

Magic won a finals MVP as a rookie with one of the most lauded games in playoff history. They won another title in his third year in the league. Not sure where you're getting the narrative about him being a choker from the outset.

Magic was a Finals MVP on a team which he wasnt even the best player.

Great player, great clutch performance, no doubt. But it's easier to be clutch when u aren't the marked man. See Horry, Robert.

Kareem missed Game 7 and Magic dominated, but Kareem is the main reason that team got to Game 7.

Eh. Kareem beasted that series for sure, but Magic dropped 42/15/7 in the deciding game when Kareem couldn't play, and averaged 21.5/11.2/8.7 on 57% shooting and 87% from the FT line for the series. As a rookie. Credit where it's due my man.

I agree, but you can't compare what LBJ is doing to what Magic did.

Oh I'm not comparing LBJ to Magic, just showing Magic some love for what was a sick performance.

Just admit you guys were wrong about the Magic = choker rep already.

Also, that game against Philly was game 6. His performance ensured there would be no game 7.

Magic choking or not doesn't really matter, cuz he isn't on the same star level as LBJ. Especially in 1980.

Why? LeBron is amazing at making teams pay for doubling. Waids, on the other hand, ****s the bed and turns it over fairly often if you're pressuring him. I really think you have to live with it if he can drain those outside shots. It wasn't like he got a ton of dunks or easy layups last night. He was just simply outstanding on jump shots.

Agree with feedthabeast. Single coverage on LBJ. I wouldn't play Bass on him at all. I would give KG a few possessions against him and mostly use Pierce/Pietrus. If Rondo plays well and Pietrus can hit his open looks then that gives Pierce the chance to guard Miller/Battier and he should have more energy on O.
