Agree w/ this completely. Sheed pierce and kg were basically given carte Blanche. I remember watching this and cheering hardcore for the cavs and just wanting to vomit bc of how awful the officiating was bc of the "gritty celtics" image they coasted w/. Had to switch and watch like college lacrosse to get that taste out of my mouth. Cavs lakers would have been such a fun finals too ugh.

+1. Haven't seen one complainer respond to the fact that the Cs openly stated they were going to hack Labron/Wade in the lane.

Every now and then, the officials legitimately screw up big time, and the officiating deserves to be the story, but tonight was not one of those nights. This was all about Wade and Bron coming up clutch down the stretch to overpower an incredible performance from Rondo.
Bahahaha. Not sure if trolling, or just blind.

seriously- have you EVER seen a one shot intentional called in that scenario? esp in favor of the road team? did marquis daniels rape horford in a way that the officials had no choice but to call a foul?

unless any of those answers are yes, you can't argue that it SHOULD have been a one shot + ball sitch for atl. in that scenario it's like super standard for the refs to swallow the whistle, and it's a bit of a shock that they called the foul to begin with.

the hawks are practically NEVER getting that call, and the logical reason why it's a rule is to prevent the "hack-a-bad-FT-shooter" strat on the OOB which clearly wasn't what was happening in this particular scenario.

i mean that whole ordeal is so so so far away from being rigged or good fortune to boston that it's just lol that you'd even bring it up as a counterargument here.
Tracy McGrady is on the Hawks so any argument stating they get out of the first round is invalid

Proof the league is not rigged:

the San Antonio Spurs.

Colin Cowherd said that the Wade foul on Rondo does not usually get called, and did not mention the Wade OF on KG, apparently because it did not merit discussion. He also compared fouls called in the Heat-Pacers series, and said games 2-6 were basically even (ignoring game 1 for some reason). So I think we should calm down on the ref/rig talk now.

I have made 3 serious points consistently:

1) Rando was fouled, but he chose to lay on the ground like a bitch when he didn't get the call, which greatly compounded the severity of the non-call since the Heat scored easily w/ a 5 on 4 the other way.
2) KG extended his arms to push Wade and was intentionally trying to foul him to prevent the easy basket, so whining about that play is ridiculous.
3) Cs were making an obvious effort to hack Labron/Wade to prevent all the easy buckets they got in game 1/get in their head. They even said so. So citing the FT disparity/shot chart is ridiculous.

I have yet to see one whiner even attempt to refute any of these points.

There is no way to reason with rigtards and boston homers (some overlap there).

pwn, maybe he could have made a play on the ball if he weren't kicked away. Intent doesn't matter. He kicked a defender to avoid contact. It's a foul.

And it's nice to see heat superfan mburke prove yet again he's nothing but an NBA tourist. Yes, sheed certainly had carte blanche to hack labron in '08. While he was a piston.

And point 3 is dumb. No one is saying bron didn't earn a bunch of FTs. But getting put on the line on touch fouls on the catch when the Cs are in the penalty doesn't really constitute being hacked on a drive.

And you're basing the whole point on one rondo quote. lol.

And regarding '08, labron averaged 13 FTs a game, including 19 in game 7. Yeah super rigged.

y'all are giving too much credit to Rondo if you think he could have done anything on that fastbreak after being smacked in the face and on the ground. yes he laid down for a while but it's not like he could have warped over and blocked the shot on the fast break. the point isn't that the C's could have defended it better. the point is that Rondo was fouled and should have been at the line.

KC, KG's arms were parallel and on Wade's arm and his body. This contact was before Wade touched KG.

I'm not complaining there.. KG clearly fouled him.. I dont know how they can call something on Wade for the contact after the KG foul, or what the call would be, but it shouldn't be a free for all where you can now kick the person off you.

I'm a HUGE boston homer and I support point 2. Point 1 is a little unfair. He was hit in the face and needed a second to regain himself (not to mention he was likely just assuming there would be a foul call as it was so blatant. I think it's pretty hard to criticize Rondo's effort given how he played last night.

Point 3 is tough. Yes, they hacked Labron/Wade but I do believe they got ALOT of calls that could have gone either way and the Celtics didn't get the same calls. That's the problem with the disparity. And it's a problem with the referees in the NBA.

I've been a Mavs fan since '93 which slowly morphed into me being a Dirk fan where if he got traded, I'd probably root for that team over Dallas. My 2nd favorite player is LeBron, and I do root for the Heat because of him. "Heat fan" isn't technically accurate, but it's not too far off. FWIW, I was deep in a tourney yesterday, and only saw the last 3 minutes of regulation + OT, so I probably shouldn't be commenting on the entirety of the officiating, but everything I saw posted was all "ZOMG, Rondo was flagrantly fouled and they didn't call it" when I saw worse non-calls go against Miami in that period of time.
