Re: NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs: Cavaliers vs Celtics

well i played up the jamison stuff plenty. at this point i dont know how i feel about him. he is like the epitome of 0 wim, which isnt necessarily bad bc he doesnt try to do too much and impose his will when he shouldnt. but from the praise the trade got, you would think he would have the ability to carry the team for small spurts. but he is not even a 2 punch or running mate or robin or whatever cliche you want.

he has some strengths, he is very good at finding proper passing lanes and getting ez and semiez buckets. he is creative finisher down low. his shooting has come around.

but he is undersized and doesnt box out well and is obv no match for a physical force like garnett.

and he has been playing tentative since he came to the cavs, and lacking confidence too. i dont see that changing this playoffs. i dont see him wiming anytime soon. i would be surprised if his fts came around too. that is straight confidence issue. is he trying too hard to not mess up? i he scared to mess up?

i dunno, the trade put them over the top on paper. however, actually watching the games, from the first 3 he played, it was apparent (to me) that he was nothing special.

So many people making a big deal about one game. The Lakers lost a game at home to Denver last year and still won the series in six games.

Cleveland will win this series and noooo I'm not willing to bet on it.

Boston fans.... Nice win!!!

NBA fans... What did you think of the officiating down the stretch? I couldn't even see the game that well as I was on a treadmill at the gym but from what I could see there looked to be a number of terrible calls. So annoying yet so typical.

Lebron after tonight's game:

"I'm going to continue to try to be the player I am and not use this elbow as an excuse," James said. "I'd never use an injury as an excuse. It's just two games. I understand the burden and the pain Cleveland fans have. I don't feel pressure at all. I'm looking forward to Game 3."

In some strange way, it seems to me that by claiming that he's not going to use the injury as an excuse, the injury then becomes an excuse.

As we head toward Friday/Sunday - my instincts lead me to wish that Boston had been a better home team this year.

Not playing until Friday is a break for Boston's legs.

that seems like the answer to the obvious question "is the elbowing bothering you?", someone surely asked it

Seems to me that the answer to the elbow bothering you question is to say that the elbow is fine and move on to the next question.

Or admit that it's seriously messed up. The not using it as an excuse answer comes off, to me at least, as contrived.

saying "i'm not gonna use it as an excuse" is functionally the same as saying "yes it hurts, but **** it"

if the elbow hurts why would he pretend it doesn't? calling it contrived is a homer defense mechanism to a potentially diluted victory if not outright hate hate hate

Is this a joke post from tar? I can't really tell honestly. WHY would he pretend it doesn't hurt if it actually hurts!? So the media, when he crushes, can write about how he plays through injury so well and how he's such a beast b/c he got 30/10/10 even with a broken elbow and ****.

I mean yo'ure joking surely, I know you know that's why he's pretending it doesn't hurt. Just like Kobe. B/c then when they crush, they can be like ya, it doesn't hurt -- but then everybody reads all the injury reports and sees all the grimaces on TV and we're all like ZOMG U PLAY THROUGH INJURIES WELL.

Seriously, use your intelligence someday :|

Also, cavs shoot 38 ft's, and celtics shoot 18, and cavs lose by 20......at home.

So nice to get wipe that smug look off LeBron's face with a BLOWOUT win at the Q despite shoddy and BS officiating from Bavetta and Co. How sweet it is!
