Made a bad bet, what now? Made a bad bet, what now?

A few years ago I bet a friend that Lebron would finish his career with more championships than Kobe. Kobe had 3 at the time and Lebron 0 obviously.

The bet was for an autographed jersey of the other guys fave player, so if I lose the bet I buy him a signed Kobe jersey and vice versa.

So, seeing as the Lakers have a legit shot at championship #4 do I buy Kobe's jersey now before he (maybe) wins another and it goes up in price or do I wait it out? If I got it now it would appreciate over the years anyway right? and if Lebron does somehow get 4 or more I could sell it and make a slight profit?

what u think?

I would definitely not start wasting money on the payout for a bet that will still be a decade or more from coming due.

This. Also, Lebron is what, 24 or so? Give it some time. Lebron is gonna be smashing the **** out of the league for the next dozen or so years.

lol, im not giving up... wouldnt a signed kobe jersey be worth more in 10 years than it is now? If I win the bet I sell it back and profit, if I lose the bet I already have the jersey and at a cheaper price than whatever it would cost in the future....

i dont kno anything about sports memorabilia though... will the jersey cost more in 10 yrs?

Lebron would buy 2 jerseys..one to **** on and one to wipe with. It's cool, Lebron's gonna win like 9 in a row.

You're screwed, he can't even get double figures in ONE category? Give up now.

12/30 is LBJ's 24th b-day. Jordon 28 when he won his first, and the Lakers have a shot this year, but are far from a certainty. I like your side of the bet.

Theres absolutely no way that the Lebron side of the bet is +EV. I'm obviously not interested in making a bet that would take that long to see who wins, but I'm extremely confident that I"m right.

So are you saying it is a lock that LBJ gets as many rings and MJ or something.

I totally agree, I mean championships are hard to come by I don't care how good you are. Especially this day and age, not to mention that Kobe has a 3 championship lead and as good of a squad as LBJ.

The Lakers had a good chance to win a title last year, why didn't you buy it then? Suddenly this year you want to concede despite this being the best team LBJ has ever had?
