lol i agree with you. actually, this is funny cause i just made a post in a diff thread about how the celtics are incredible at D and stopping one premier talent.

kobe lebron etc.

however i must say....

kobe didnt look lost and dispirited. the celtics just dominated him and he couldnt do a damn thing about it.

when i watched lebron the past 2 games. he looked like a scared child who didnt want to touch the ball. then when he had the ball he fumbled it.

kobe wanted the ball, but he dribbled around like a stubborn fool who couldnt understand why he was constantly being owned.

KC,

this was my response to epipes post about people not realizing how good the celtics D is.

------------

agreed.

however....i think the magic win the series.

celtics are amazing at stopping one premier player. kobe, lebron, durant etc

the magic are a much different team.

great PG play, lewis, carter, howard.

very difficult to stop a well balanced attack that has a pg who is a distributor.

kobe and lebron dominate the ball and when you double them outside the 3 pt line or you force them to consistently pass the ball it disrupts the entire offensive scheme.

the celtics destroyed kobe. pick and rolls and then both celtics would converge on kobe and not allow him to dribble around them. wastes time on the shot clock and takes kobe out of an offensive flow.

if the lakers ever have to play the celtics again, i hope kobe watches those tapes and learns that it is probably a good idea to instantly pass the ball out of those pick and rolls because the celtics will once again double him at the 3 pt line and no allow him to drive the lane.

feel like lebron is getting a little too much of the blame here. the rest of his team sucks. Jamison was just awful, mo williams was good for one half of one game, and nobody else did much of anything. People expect lebron to win a championship by himself when nobody in the history of the nba has been able to do so. Every championship team's star player had at least one hall of fame caliber player or two allstar caliber players. Look back at any previous nba champion. Jordan had pippen, olujawon had drexler, duncan had parker and ginobili, wade had shaq, kobe had gasol, etc etc. Who is the best player on the cavs other than lebron?

yeah, I thought about this, but Pietrus may be too physical for Ray, then again running your offense through Pietrus isn't the greatest of game plans

the Celtics would love for the Magic to attempt to exploit that match-up

only matchup that i think the celtics will struggle in on defense is kg guarding shard but kg can abuse shard harder on the other end than shard can abuse him imo

i do think nelson could have a good series as well tho, rondo is the best pg defender in the league along with cp3 but just like cp3 hes a far better helper/rotater/passing lane steals guy than he is man to man. but the celtics do play the pick and roll incredibly well and that's the magic main half court play.

Mike Brown could have been Red Auerbach or John Wooden and that team still wasn't winning a title.

you're a pretty decent winner though. then again, you're used to titles in boston, so winning a 2nd round playoff series probably isn't something you'd get all riled up about.

f my parents for birthing me here.

i think a big thing for me if he stays here is going to be that i'm never going to ever be able to be fully behind him again. and i know i'm not alone.

between this series and the whole 'i want to be loved' will he/won't he free agency thing...even if he DID come back and said, 'hey, never wanted to leave in the first place love my hometown', a LOT of people are gonna go, 'ehh, whatever'. like, the ONLY way he'd get even SOME of these fans back is to win.

he really should go and be done with it.

if he wants to leave in even somewhat good graces, announce that you've loved your time here, appreciate the fans, but need something new. drag out where you're going if you want, but don't take all of us along for the ride when you god-damn well know you're not coming back.

pretty much agree except for the last paragraph. really think there is no way he can leave on good graces with cleveland given his actions so far.

oh you're obviously right. but that would cushion the blow as much as possible. it's going to be the 6 weeks of non-stop, wall-to-wall lebron, with momentum changing almost daily, and then...

i'm just saying if he is anything less than 50/50 on leave/stay (which, i mean c'mon, he's had years to consider leaving/staying), just be upfront about it. he's gonna be hated if he leaves regardless, but there are some of us that would toss him just a pinch of respect if he was just upfront.

it is what it is. we're a different kind of fan i think, due to the constant suck replaced by heartbreak replaced by suck, etc.

you're right. but like i said, it is what it is. was just chillin' with my buddy today who is by far the biggest cavs fan i know.

wasn't in shock. wasn't tripping over the loss. even after a couple beers..strange. we started talking about it, and it was just kinda like, 'whatever man, at this point it's just whatever.'

we've dealt with ****ty teams for a long time here. hell i don't even get osu's title in '02 and their subsequent run. on the bright side, the browns are looking up (don't laugh, they are in a cleveland sort of way) and the nba is probably the easiest league to go from 20 wins to playoffs.

like i said, it is what it is. are we supposed to beg him to stay, send him love letters or whatever only to have one of the biggest heartbreaks EVER in july, when they aren't even playing games?

i ain't with that.

i hope he stays. admittedly, it'll take a bit for me to be fully behind him again, and this is from someone who saw him play as a 17-year old junior here in youngstown.

makes it that much stranger that you would reject the best chance of success. or not welcome him back completely

tarheel, i get you, but scherer kinda pointed it all out..

it's like your longtime girlfriend or wife cheating on you. yeah, you had lots of good times, and she's legit in saying she really wants back with you and you'll live happily ever after.

but there's always *that* in the back of your mind (in this case this series and the eventually courting by every other team).
