I didn't mean it right now or anything really.

What I was saying is if he can play anywhere near where he was when Delonte/Mo were out, he is fine as a "Nate Rob" or "Ben Gordon" type scorer. The thing was, he really seemed like he played better defense than even Mo was playing, so he had signs of being much more than just a scorer.

What I was saying is I would gladly give away Mo for just a good defensive PG. It's kind of necessary. There are about 5-6 great PG's who are always going to be in the playoffs. Rose, Rondo, and Nelson are all ALWAYS going to give the Cavs nightmares unless Mo is traded for someone like that.

I don't think its absolutely necessary or anything, but I'm simply saying Boobie has shown enough signs that I think he could be a backup PG who filled the "offensive-minded" role close enough to Mo while also playing probably better defense.

One option: The elbow's killing me. I'm doing my best to play through it.

Another option: My elbow's fine. Next question.

A third option: The elbow is nicked up, but everyone's nicked up at this time of the year.

Personally, I don't doubt that he has an injury. My point is simply that his answer last night was by design.

Yup. Also, by the way TNT describes the elbow throughout the game you'd think the dude is playing with a ****ing stump out there. Kobe is legitimately banged up, and has made no excuses about it. That's why he'll always be better than LeBron in my book, Laker hating aside.

getting way too much into word nittery here imo.

sounds like you guys are allowing what the media has said about his elbow to influence whatever he says about it. you said yourself "in some strange way" it sounds like he's making an excuse by not making one and i consider that "strange way" to essentially be hearing what you want to hear in this instance

edit: if you consider his actual response to be somewhat of an excuse then you can spin option one or three into one

There is relationship reciprocity between Lebron and the media.

He knows that the media is spinning wildly on this elbow thing.

That being said, I'm bowing out of this debate - Posh is right, this is just going to become a word parse nit-fest from here.

I agree with this for sure. It's just annoying to see the media take such a minor thing to this extent. Every other word on ESPN is LeBron's elbow. There are several players who are playing through more severe injuries right now, and you hear barely a peep about it. It's not LBJ's fault by any means, but it makes it easier to view the elbow as an excuse since the media is spinning the story that way regardless of what he actually said.

When you shoot a left handed FT with 7 seconds left in the game, and you're only up 4, you welcomed all this talk. You created it. When you walk around on the court grabbing it and squinting your face, you fuel this kind of talk.

I don't doubt for one second the man might have some legit injuries, or nagging pains this late in a season, but this one was blown way out of proportion. No one will ever know if it in fact hurts, or is just a BS move to make him look like he plays through injuries.

It's obviously a stinger-type injury. They either hurt like hell, or don't hurt at all. Of course he's drama queening it, is there anything in his past that points to him not milking everything for a headline? I'm a Cavs homer, and find James the ultimate dichotomy, pure unselfishness on the court, pure attention whore off of it.

That said, I doubt he'll still be milking the same excuse over the next 3 seasons.

Cavs win game 3 easily.

Hawks 1 time.

The Cavs played their best BB when Mo was out and Boobie was playing. Mo is fools gold. He has me longing for the days of Eric Snow who would play good D and fill a role.

Mo has the easiest job of all the PGs in the NBA and he can't fulfill his duties. He isn't asked to run the offense or make sure everyone gets involved, which is pretty much a PGs job description. He doesn't put up good enough scoring numbers on a consistent basis, and doesn't play a lick of defense.

Schwallie is right, they're (Cavs) going to see the top PGs in the East every post season and will always struggle against them unless they do something about Mo.

I think Delonte West should get the start not Boobie. West is probably their must clutch scorer, whether it's taking jumpers or getting to the rim. And his defense isn't as suspect as Mo's is.

I'm not on that Daniel Gibson bandwagon, if he was that good he wouldn't find himself riding the pine. Especially when Mo is playing like ****, and there's obviously a need for help. Mike Brown must not trust Daniel enough to let him come in during the playoffs.

But Kobe doesn't talk about it, period. When he goes 6/19 he never complains or makes an excuse about his hand, back or ankle. The only reason ppl still talk about his finger is because every single game he plays in, the commentators keep mentioning it. He stopped talking about it a looooong time ago. Tapes it up an goes to work.

LeBrick is having his 3rd MRI in 10 days! What changed between last sunday and now, other than them losing home court adv.? He looks fine on his chase down blocks, but after the game it's MRI time?

I wonder if we could find out how many x-rays and MRI's and ct scans Kobe has gone through. The thing is, he never mentions it, and his team doesn't either.

You can't even compare one to the other, they don't relate. Kobe won a championship with his bum hand, and never made one excuse before/after/during the playoffs.

Just sayin'....

My opinion may be a little bias since I have a man crush on Kobe, but what I said is true. He doesn't walk around the court playing with his finger or grimacing and holding his back, he just goes to work.

Every time they put the camera on LeBrick it seemed like he was making facial expressions to prove to ppl how much it hurts him. Like I said before, no left handed FT, and this publicity doesn't exist. LeBrick did it on purpose, he knew the Celtics and Magic were not going to lay down and give it to him. And almost every NBA "expert" crowned the Cavs Champs before the Playoffs began, so if he lets them down, this is his reason. Now all he has to do is sell it, and he's doing an OK job so far.
