I like the idea of them trading out of this draft. Would you take Jonathan Isaac & the #6 pick for #1?

every team is willing to trade their pick given the price, it's just nobody is gonna match that price most likely (for the #1 anyways). you're gonna hear a lot of hot air BS statements for the next month or so.

Any chance PHX would take Kyrie + 19 SAC pick for #1? Doncic, Brown, Tatum would be so nice.

I'd love to do that if I was Boston. Doubt PHX pulls the trigger tho as Kyrie can use his player option in 2019 to become a FA and then just walk away (to join HOUSE KNICKS!).

the old dx site had 2 lists; a mock which was intended to predict what would happen, and a 'top prospects' list which was givony/dx team's actual opinion on the best guys. so the mock doesn't necessarily represent givony's opinion. i assume espn mock is based on intel / desire for clickbait / whatever

You said PHX is a lock to draft Ayton

If Doncic is available

Spoiler:

Doncic/Brown/Hayward/Tatum/Horford coached by Brad, basketball solved

If Ainge loves a player in this draft, it is possible he can trade the Kings 2019 pick+1 of Memph/LAC picks and get into the top 8.

Adding Bamba coached up by Brad to this Celts D could be sick.

Bamba seems horrible for their schemes and switching.

I doubt they'd be instantly good. Too bad he won't go there. Sacto is where players go to die. Doncic obviously knows this.

If Celtics wanted to get somebody who can switch on D & play great defense to add to their scheme they could just Nerlen Noel, don't need to trade assets. Pretty sure Brad would save Noel's career, no reason he shouldn't be a great defender in the nba.

Noel is an idiot and a nutcase though. Not sure he'll be able to buyin and won't like not getting paid big $$$. He's from the Boston area though so maybe that will help.

I thought Bamba profiles as a big that has good movement and should be adequate at switching which is 1 of the things that is so tantalizing about him.

I don't watch much CBB at all though. Just what I read.

Don't think the Celts need another 19 year old in general though. Team is on the cusp of being a perennial contender. I'd expect the Sac pick to be dealt at some point.

That should be big drill at combine for bigs: guard pg and wings on perimeter.

I think they want someone who can switch on defense and play good, not necessarily great, defense and who can pass the ball well. Shooting the ball well enough to spread the floor is a plus.

If Noel is just a one-way defensive specialist, he might get the same level of playing time that Greg Monroe has been getting. He'd eat up minutes to preserve Al Horford in the regular season and get garbage time in the playoffs.

Bamba's intellect and how he carries himself in interviews will bump him up 2 or 3 spots. not sure if I agree with it or not, but he's a great kid and I would not bet against him

I was thinking Noel would get Baynes minutes pretty much, Stevens would make him very useful imo, surprised Cleveland didn't trade for him in the first place.

If Rozier plays well for the rest of the playoffs what do you think Ainge will get for him? I feel he's 100% being traded this year & if not for a piece in a Kawhi trade it will be for a pick. What pick do you think Rozier would net after such a great playoff run?

I don't think Noel would move ahead of Baynes on the depth chart if Stevens had them both on the roster.

I'm not convinced Ainge will trade Rozier. It depends on what he projects Rozier will get in restricted free agency. If he thinks offer sheets for Rozier will be for a tradeable contract, I expect him to match, draft another guard, and trade Rozier in a year or two when his replacement is ready.

So you think Ainge wants to pay Rozier, Smart & Kyrie? They didn't want to pay Bradley as they knew Brown was going to take his starting spot, not sure paying 3 p.g's 10mill+ a year is what he's going to do.

Even with this playoffs, Rozier likely doesn't have much trade value with only 1yr left on his deal.

The '15-16 bonanza deals will be coming off the books next summer and teams won't be as cap constrained when Rozier hits RFA.
