For a lot of players, I think you just have to be athletic enough rather than the most athletic if you have enough skill and will.

There’s a whole article about doncic potentially falling out of the top 3. A lot of stuff but cliffs is that teams aren’t as infatuated with him, only Phoenix sent a scout to the Euro championships of the top 4 picks. The buyout is a concern and him holding out. He’s been struggling with all the games the last 18 months. This point doesn’t seem like that much of a concern to me since he’s so young. He struggled early on in the playoffs but obviously played very well in the last 2 games to get the MVP.

It’s lol insider so if someone wants to read the whole thing pm me.

If Doncic Kobe's his way to the Knicks I will dance a happy jig on 34th street.

i feel like there is a 0% chance doncic falls past sacramento and this "news" is a smokescreen designed by sacramento to get phoenix to take ayton

sending a scout to euro championships kinda pointless imo, the fact that you didnt send one doesnt really mean anything as there's already tons of him on tape

That's 8 GM fired in 2 years, that's too much, some of them might want to keep their job

Sad though, Frank-Doncic would be the GOAT backcourt

LONGBOI and SKILLBOI showing Murica what does "NBA WENT GLOBAL" means, with KP at 5 and mister hotwife coaching them

This lottery result is so terrible and will haunt us for years

-Doncic being crowned as the official heir by Dirk before he retires, led by GOAT owner Cuban and supersolid coach RICK, that's cool
-Doncic with KP and Frank EUROTEAM, that's awesome
-Doncic and Jokic releasing the IC era, I'm not a Denver fan, but that still gives me a boner just thinking how beautiful this offense would be
Grit&Grind Memphis being rewarded for trying to be good with Conley/Gasol instead of tanking
-Doncic to Cavs and maybe you convince Lebron to stay and boom GOAT playing with future HOFer, where amazing happens
-Doncic and Markannen at Bulls I'm ok with that, building a team around players that fits future basketball

Ayton being picked over Doncic because Suns are terrible or Doncic being picked by Kings or Hawks, that just sounds horrible, you know his career his ****ed until he's traded.

doncic on the hawks would actually be the greatest thing of all time but i am assessing a 0% chance of it happening because it seems certifiably insane for both suns and kings to pass on him or trade down to a team who also doesnt want him

relevant anecdote:

nets were gonna draft kobe. kobe's agent says to nets, "if you draft kobe, he will stay in italy and never play in the NBA until you release him"

when kobe was presented with this story years later, kobe says "oh yeah that was obviously a bluff... but i would have played for the nets, for sure"

tl;dr call dat bluff OBV

I remember Kobe's quote as "I would have played anywhere, I would have played on Mars - I wanted to play so bad." They asked why did his agent say that and he said "oh that was just "agent's name" being "agent's name".

Calipari blundered big time by not taking Kobe. Calipari even was asked at the time what he thought of Kobe. And he raved on and on about how Kobe was such a great player. Then why didn't you take him!? Guy had no huevos.

In his shoes I roll the dice every time.

Calipari says that but he is a BS artist obviously, I think he wanted to compete with the Nets right away to prove that he could coach in the NBA. I believe he was the 2nd or 3rd highest paid coach in the league when he left UMass to go the Nets.

Doubt he cared that Kobe was gonna be better than Kerry Kittles 4 years later.

And now he where is he?

In Kentucky. He could have created a dynasty with Kobe. A ****ing dynasty.

my favorite part about the Kobe thing was that he went 13th overall. NJ had the 8th pick

Drafted ahead of him:
Allen Iverson
Marcus Camby
Shareef Abdur-Rahim
Stephon Marbury
Ray Allen
Antoine Walker
Lorenzen Wright
Kerry Kittles
Samaki Walker
Erick Dampier
Todd Fuller
Vitaly Potapenko

In any case Hawks management is quite capable of passing on him if he falls to them to pick some project with more potential athletic upside.

It's really hard to argue with drafting Kobe ahead of any of the bolded guys based on what was known then. For some of them I can see an argument for doing it, even now. Wright, Walker, and Dampier were also reasonable picks. As I recall the guy everyone was really drooling over was Camby.

What do you guys think of the odds that Michael Porter Jr. will be available for the Knicks at #9?

0%, he probably goes top 5 or hell, top 3. Dude was the #1 player going into college, had a good combine & there isn't a clear slam dunk #1 pick in this draft. I say he doesn't go past 6 like ever.

Anyone: Would you trade #1 for Jayson Tatum or vice versa?
