This seems very unlikely. He's grabbing a lower percent of rebounds in lolcollege than 6 players currently are in the NBA.

There's been a bunch of Ayton hype lately with his back-to-back 32 point games, but I still like JJJ more than him. Defensively they aren't close at all, and offensively Ayton definitely has an advantage but not nearly as much as people are making it out to be.

Ayton is at 65.5% TS and 26.8% usage, while JJJ is at 65.4% TS and 23.8% usage. Ayton is doing more creating while JJJ is doing more catch and shoot, but the gap isn't as big as people seem to think. Ayton is being assisted on 54% of his made shots at the rim while JJJ is being assisted on 39% of his. Ayton is shooting more shots at the rim, but most of his extra usage is from the midrange where he is taking 42% of his shots compared to JJJ's 17%. I'm skeptical Ayton can maintain his 52% fg on mid-long 2s against NBA defenders and with a larger sample size. Ayton also has more than a year of development on JJJ.

I would take JJJ's huge defensive advantage and youth over Ayton's offensive advantage and rebounding. I still have Doncic over both though.

Ristic steals a ton of his bounds, and teams frequently pull Ayton away from the basket. No one in college high points rebounds like him on both ends of the floor. I can’t remember seeing anyone rebound quite like him since peak Barkley.

Watch the games and you’ll see it.

JJJ over Ayton is a super hot take.

JJJ is a somewhat better Jonathan Isaac.

Is Issac just taking a while to get going or just completely suck in the NBA?

isaac is already a solid defender according to at least some metrics ive seen. he was always gonna take a while to get it together on offense.

I'm calling it.

Trae Young will fall to the Knicks at #8.

And only *some* of the Knicks fans in attendance will boo when they take him.

The Bulls will win more games than the Knicks and get the 9th pick.

Sorry for not being super clear on that.

Where is Mikal going to go? My Nugs sucking has a silver lining if he slips into the early teens. I think teams around that spot might not covet an older guy who's awesome but tops out as an elite 3+D wing.

If Trae Young is off the board I can see the Knicks taking Mikal at #9. They def need a 3D wing.

Definitely a great member for the 2021 New York Wingspan with Frank Giannis and Staps

Would the Knax take him? Seems like a lot of rebuilding teams have less use for a 3+D older wing when they have many more holes to fill

Keep the dream alive for me please, it's been a rough last couple weeks!

In the 8 years CBBref has calculated BPM, the top 4 freshmen are Anthony Davis, KAT, JJJ, and Embiid.

I've read some Knicks stuff in the past few weeks who have guessed that the Knicks may take him.

They badly need someone to play SF. But don't worry, the Knicks will get either the #1 or #2 pick and take Doncic.

Mikal seems like he would fit great on the Cavs.

Is Robert Williams rising up any mock draft boards? He's having a great tournament so far after being somewhat disappointing most of the season. Where is he projected? In the 15-20 range?

I think ESPN had a segment on him rising recently. He was in 15-20 like you said, and I think they moved him up to 10-15, but it was running in the background and I'm not sure, and don't have Insider to verify. Other mocks I've seen still have him at 15-20.

Thanks. That’s about where I expected him to go last year. I’m hoping that coming back for another year doesnt cost him much in terms of where he will be drafted.
