This seems very unlikely. He's grabbing a lower percent of rebounds in lolcollege than 6 players currently are in the NBA.
There's been a bunch of Ayton hype lately with his back-to-back 32 point games, but I still like JJJ more than him. Defensively they aren't close at all, and offensively Ayton definitely has an advantage but not nearly as much as people are making it out to be.
Ayton is at 65.5% TS and 26.8% usage, while JJJ is at 65.4% TS and 23.8% usage. Ayton is doing more creating while JJJ is doing more catch and shoot, but the gap isn't as big as people seem to think. Ayton is being assisted on 54% of his made shots at the rim while JJJ is being assisted on 39% of his. Ayton is shooting more shots at the rim, but most of his extra usage is from the midrange where he is taking 42% of his shots compared to JJJ's 17%. I'm skeptical Ayton can maintain his 52% fg on mid-long 2s against NBA defenders and with a larger sample size. Ayton also has more than a year of development on JJJ.
I would take JJJ's huge defensive advantage and youth over Ayton's offensive advantage and rebounding. I still have Doncic over both though.
