NBA Draft 2017 NBA Draft 2017

If Ainge maxs IT then hes lost it.

he was, in my eyes, easily a top 3 GM and drafter. Now I dont know. I think this is pretty risky on his part. and I think Jackson is overrated. I think brown will be a better prospect when its said and one.

I have more faith in Brown. I dont give a **** how athletic jackson is, if he cant shoot the 3 at around at least a 35% clip from 3, he will be a fringe all star. so many guys in the league can avg 14/5 and defend and slash.

if he ever gets consistent from 3 then we are talking about a legitimate absolute playe.

I just don't see what sets him apart form A LOT of other really good players. His upside isnt borderline HoF or anythign crazy like that

I take back everything I said about Philly getting hosed, seems like they won this trade by a good bit.

This trade was only possible because of Hinkie. They basically traded their own pick (5) and MCW for the number 1 pick. They went from 5 to 3 because of the pick swap with the Kings which they got (in addition to an unprotected 1st) for taking on roughly 10 million in salary. And they traded MCW for the Lakers pick.

You are the worst poster on this forum by a wide margin. I am honestly tired of reading your drivel.

Apparently it's 1 and 6+ protected. So only if it's 2-5 is it bostons.

Boston taking Tatum instead of Jackson makes it a little less bad but still. Fultz>>>>>Tatum+Kings 2019 pick.

The Kings pick COULD end up being better but it could also end up being a lot worse. And when it's better it's going to be barely better than having Fultz anyway.

Still think Boston should have just taken Lonzo anyway. Maybe they bink him at 3 and know the Lakers are gonna take Fox or something.

At first glance, I don't think this is great for the C's. Saw some chatter on Twitter than they didn't want an overflowing backcourt. Lol if that's the case.

If they do the #3, Avery, Jaylen for Jimmy I like it way more. If they end up picking Tatum or Jackson I think it's pretty bad. I admit I only have casual knowledge on most of the top picks but Fultz/Lonzo seem a pretty clear tier above the rest.

If I'm Boston I try hard to hang on to Jaylen. Would AB+#3+Lakers/Kings get Butler?

As a secondary Sixer fan and Philly resident this is very exciting. All of our teams kind of suck. Not sure when or if the Sixers will be truly good but at least they definitely should be nasty in a few years on paper. While I wasn't excited about giving up future picks, I think what they gave up doesn't hurt that much.

If Boston just really wanted Jackson, it seems like a great deal for them. They get their guy and a future potential top 5 pick in the next 2 years. I just hope Fultz doesn't get hurt now!

Not sure what the final roster will be and I'm not Philly team expert but this doesn't seem too bad:

PG-TJ/Bayless/Sergio?
SG-Fultz/Stauskas
SF-Covington
PF-Simmons/Saric
C-Embiid/Holmes/Okafor

Seems like they still have a big gap at PG (unless Fultz plays PG) and if they can't retain Covington--it's clearly an issue. Seems like they should be finally be finally getting some veteran leadership to fit in the team. I know they have some assets stored abroad as well.

Right now the Sixers have an insane amount of cap space: http://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/PHI.html is it worth "rushing" the process.

Josh Jackson an elite prospect outside of shooting the basketball which is kinda important these days.

Josh's FT% is **** for a wing; but his 3 point % isn't bad for a freshman. His TOV #s should be a concern but again, he's a freshman.

I'd expect us to try and sign Lowry, Jrue, or Hill. Failing that, maybe Redick or Mills. Covington is a lock to be extended.

Lineup would be:

Fultz/TJ/Bayless
TLC/Stauskas/Korkmaz
Covington
Simmons/Saric
Embiid/Holmes/Okafor

Fultz functions like a SG on offense and TLC and Covington matchup with the two more difficult defensive assignments on the perimeter.

Sergio is gone for sure. Simmons gets some minutes at 3 next to Saric. Maybe Justin Anderson is kept and gets some minutes there. Okafor probably gets moved and maybe Shawn Long is kept as the third center. I'm guessing we'll use one or two seconds on wings (Josh Hart is a great fit). Would also like to see us consolidate somehow and try and target Donovan Mitchell.

Fultz-Simmons-Saric-Embiid all belong in the lineup together. They just need one more guard.

Lol Covington.

I get it he's a good role player. You know what's better than that? Star players. They're on the verge of having 4.

Tho lol at embiid ever being healthy

Do people think Saric is going to have a huge leap? His stats blow and I understand he was a rookie. Even his Feb/March splits are not that impressive.

I think he'll be a solid player; I think Simmons/Fultz/Embiid are much better than him. Maybe Saric can be a ****ty Toni Kukoc or something.

I really hope this doesn't mean they're drafting Jackson and trying to sign Blake. Eghhhh.

I'm pessimistic about a huge leap. He'll look better with better teammates but I'd be ok with moving him for the 7th to 10th pick if it were an option because he's overrated and doesn't fit well with Simmons. I don't think he gets moved though for non-basketball reasons.

Saric made a nice little intrayear minileap last year when he got more playing time. If he builds on that he's gonna be really good.

Biggest worry about Saric is his defense. But he should end up being a good scorer. Maybe high usage bench scorer would be a good role but he might not be willing.

Im not high on Jackson, but whoever goes to Boston will have the best chance to reach his potential.

Stevens maximizes anyone he gets. Anyone can learn to shoot.
