As a secondary Sixer fan and Philly resident this is very exciting. All of our teams kind of suck. Not sure when or if the Sixers will be truly good but at least they definitely should be nasty in a few years on paper. While I wasn't excited about giving up future picks, I think what they gave up doesn't hurt that much.
If Boston just really wanted Jackson, it seems like a great deal for them. They get their guy and a future potential top 5 pick in the next 2 years. I just hope Fultz doesn't get hurt now!
Not sure what the final roster will be and I'm not Philly team expert but this doesn't seem too bad:
PG-TJ/Bayless/Sergio?
SG-Fultz/Stauskas
SF-Covington
PF-Simmons/Saric
C-Embiid/Holmes/Okafor
Seems like they still have a big gap at PG (unless Fultz plays PG) and if they can't retain Covington--it's clearly an issue. Seems like they should be finally be finally getting some veteran leadership to fit in the team. I know they have some assets stored abroad as well.
Right now the Sixers have an insane amount of cap space:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/PHI.html is it worth "rushing" the process.
