FRANK was assigned to the french league MVP DJ Cooper in the play-offs 1st round

He destroyed him on D the whole serie

Cooper averaged 20/5/11 in regular season, he went 13/4/6 on 8/27 shooting this serie

Oh BTW he's 18 and he's the one gathering the team and highfiving them when a timeout is called, he was the one keeping the energy up and motivating his teammates when the opposing team came back late in the game

Gary ****ing payton with a 7" wingspan

I like Frank. Hoping he falls to the stons at 12. Seems like theirs a decent chance of it happening with Mitchell rising.

Yeah I saw an article about Mitchell and the Knicks interest in him.

They might trade down and take him at the end of the lotto, or possibly even take him at #8. Pitino says he's actually a point guard, he was just playing the 2 a lot because Louisville already had a pg.

He's the last one to grab an orange slice and makes sure all his teammates get their Capri Sun punctured too

He has sick handle and probably will be an okay bench creator but he also has horrible bball iq. It would be so very Knicks to take him over Frank.

I've grown more and more ok with Knicks getting Dennis too.

am I the only one who wants to see a Simmons-ROCO-Saric-Markkanen-EMBIID lineup?
even if it only plays 100 minutes together

thats a slow team tho maybe embiid just destroys everyone at the rim

Winslow and 14 for 7 (timberwolves). Stagger lavine and Wiggins. Who says no?

I'm guessing Minny since I'm a heat fan, but could see thibs fall in love with Winslow

Another way of spinning that question is how much are the disappointing (Winslow, frank, mudiay, wcs, dar), but not worthless (okafor, Mario, debatably Stanley) rookies in last year of deal worth

He played the point when Snider was out a couple games and actually had some of his best games at the point

No you aren't.

I'm very much behind the Markkannen at #3 for Philly theory. It's clearly the most Hinktelligent play imo. Trust the process.

I caught the last game of the serie. Not sure about the rah-rah stuff and/or - supposing it to be true - that it is really that significant. But Frank certainly demonstrated how good a defender he is, already, at this level - where he has to defend adults playing for money.

dx says cooper averaged 13/10 and also he's 5'10:

imo if he'd done anything other than own this guy it'd be a horrible look for frank's nba chops as a defender

Minnesota easily says no. 7 to 14 is just way too far.

Winslow probably moves you from like 9 to 6 or 14 to 10 imo

i'd have it currently:

1. fultz
2. ball
3. lauri
4. jackson

imo markannen is the 3rd best prospect - the guy's shooting stats are just so megaelite, and his secondary skills are potent enough that i can't imagine him not being a super useful offensive guy. defense seems a bit crap in general obviously, but his lateral quicks and general athleticism seem ok enough to hold up in a versatile manner imo - i think his lack of athleticism is overstated in general. in terms of raw tools, i don't think terrible enough at defending any particular potential offensive play that he'll have a reliably attackable weakness (like he's not just super weak or slow, or dumb/lazy - deficits can be easily exploited with simple play types). i think he can probably defend switches kinda (lateral quickness is probably one of his less bad defensive skills), and is big enough to play center against plenty of rotation centers (unlikely the best ones but that kind of versatility is valuable). on balance, i just don't see anyone being able exploit his defensive weakness enough to offset his almost lockish offensive advantages. he's a crappy rim protector, but first you have to beat the first line of defense to attack that. i'm also encouraged by the fact that he's improved his body quite a bit over his early career, it's a strong work ethic indicator imo. the fact that he excels at shooting so much also points to a potentially strong work ethic

josh jackson i think > isaac - and i think that's mostly because his upside is higher to me. one thing i noticed watching some highlights is that he's a legit ballhandler with both hands which is pretty cool as well as being a legit good passer. the other thing is i just have an opinion that a shot doctor could fix his shot a bit, he at least goes up and down straight which is the foundation of a good shot - i think his balance just gets ****ed up because of how loopy his form is - that said the ft % is a terrible look so maybe he just sucks at shooting. also a pink flag: rim finishing doesn't seem that good considering his athleticism - his numbers are kinda ok, and when he can dunk it he's fine - but his non-dunk shots seem a bit too hard at ncaa level to be reliably projected to nba. obviously you want guys to be able to create easy shots, not convert hard ones over college defenders. that said, imo the fact that he seems very wimmy and smart is good reason to err on the side of betting on his many advantages in intangibles to overcome his glaring and less glaring weaknesses - and if he overcomes all of them then he's a superstar 2-way wing, the most elite mould in the nba

after that i stop caring a bit - but think isaac seems like a solid prospect because if his game translates, his mould is so perfect for modern nba that that's pretty valuable already

Mcbeef,
Do you see Love as a reasonable comp for Markannen?
NBA Draft 2017 Quote

Love was a great rebounder in college, Lauri doesn't seem to be able to rebound for ****. Lauri seems like he'll be a better shooter.

Also worrisome how Loves block numbers at UCLA destroy Lauri. That package has to give people serious pause when thinking about him ever playing the 5 in the pros.

His fans have to be thinking rich mans Ryan Anderson for a comp.

Also fwiw I don't know what I'm talking about.

The 2nd round dark horse I like is Sindarius Thornwell. Reminds me a lot of Marcus Smart

Whatever statistical darlings slide. Tony Bradley, Swanigan, Thornwell, Hart, Monte Morris, Sterling Brown, Thomas Bryant are all candidates.

Last year Morey completely picked off all of my top sleepers on my board between Onuaku, Qi, and Payton. Wouldn't be surprised if he does the same this year.
