wiggins is undecided, he is the son of an nba'er (mitch wiggens) and a silver medal olympic medalist track and field athlete. so you can imagine he has some pretty ridiculous genetics, and it shows. he is touted as like the best athlete since lebron; hes not as strong or big as lebron but he looks like hes as fast on tape, and he can shoot. strength is something im sure he'll develop with time, hes 17 ffs.

right now he's between kentucky, unc, and FSU. i think duke, ohio state, syracuse are now off the table last i checked a few days ago. FSU because his parents are alums, and UNC/Kentucky. i'm guessing he chooses UNC, mainly because FSU is god awful and kentucky has commits already from two of the other best wings in the class in andrew harrison and james young.

parker is committed to duke, he had a foot injury earlier in the year and apparently struggled with anxiety issues but is close to derrick rose (who also went to simeon prep). parker is more compared to melo/pierce, way more nba ready than wiggins, with a more developed skill set. he can cut and pass really well for a wing, his shot is way more developed than wiggins. he lacks in athleticism but only compared to wiggins really, hes a fine athlete for the next level.

unc/duke between parker and wiggins is going to be something special, if only for a year.

that class just has some insane talent; wiggins, parker, randle, gordon, harrison twins, young, vonleh, dakari johnson. all of those guys are going to be so ****ing good.

wiggins also has kansas on his final 4 list. so it's kentucky, fsu, kansas, unc.

conventional wisdom for a long time has been wiggins to either kentucky or fsu. i haven't been following it closely recently, but i would be surprised if he doesn't end up going to one of those two schools. still think he ends up at kentucky. when calipari and www really want someone, they usually get him.

I'm super high on Oladipo. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he was the best player in this class.

I haven't been watching much lately but I'll take some wild guesses

1. Noel
2. Shabazz
3. McLemore
4. Porter
5. Oladipo
6. lolCody
7. Smart
8. Len
9. Burke
10. Olynyk maybe? Or Gorbert? Getting thin at this point, most everybody seems meh or fraudulent.

Kinda weird to not see Burke not getting more love. What's his malfunction? I know he's bad on D but his offensive $tats sure are tempting nevertheless. His turnover rate is insane for somebody who shoulders such a large offensive load.

cavs board also going nuts on cauley stein. everyone has him top 10 and the real supporters have him top 5 and drummond part 2.

more like Javale pt. 2 (complete with occasional volleyball goaltend)

dude does move amazing for a seven-footer, just has such undeveloped/nonexistent basketball instincts and actually pretty bad hands given his background.

Drummond actually had some basketball skill, WCS is just a giant freak who likes to play. Its more a comment on Len's fraudulence than anything

Sorting by RSCI seems to imply that comparing Cauley Stein to Drummond is a nish nish

Defense is a bit shaky and he's small. He should still be a decent PG in the league though, I think. I never would have said that this year but he's made huge strides. He's a very heady offensive player.

Not sure how much his cast, coach, and system inflate his stats but statistically speaking his sophomore year looks slightly superior to Ty Lawson's junior year:

http://statsheet.com/mcb/players/com...e&p1=ty-lawson

Higher usage, lower efficiency, slightly higher assist%, somehow lower than Lawson's microscopic TOV rate. And it's not like Ty was lacking in talented shooters + scorers around him.

Unless I'm missing something about his performance (v possible due to lack of watching Michigan) such that his $tats vastly overstate his talent level, it seems that he has potential to be quite the offensive weapon in the NBA and should go top 10. Even if AIDS D is AIDS, he is just so much more appealing to me than somebody like Mason Plumlee who DX has going ahead of him.

by decent, I meant decent starter.. so like averageish, which is what Ty Lawson is

I don't think his stats overrate his talent at all. In Big Ten play, Trey has been forced to carry the team in the half court a lot of the time. And he's done an admirable job. He's got good quickness, a good handle, is a really good shooter, and he finishes well for his size. My only concern with him is how his physical skills will translate to the NBA. I think he's quick enough to be fine, but he's always going to be a bit limited imo

ETA: I'd take him towards the end of the lottery (10-14)

Isn't Ty a better athlete? His speed is really probably his biggest asset

Chad Ford did an article the other day on who the lottery teams were likely to pick #1, he had four teams picking Smart #1, Orlando, Sacramento, New Orleans and Toronto.

DX currently has Mason Plumlee 11th overall. WTF do they see in him? If he goes mid 1st, this is the EXACT type of player that contributes to the theory that all Duke players bust. Guy has no business going anywhere in round 1, yet Coach K makes him look like a stud and NBA talent evaluators refuse to recognize that he's not going to lead any NBA team to a good time.

that's fair. if i'm an NBA team i def start thinking about taking him or Olynyk in the 8-10 range, both of them just seem too good in college to not be useful in the NBA. i'm a bit flabbergasted that DX has Plumlee ahead of both of them.

Plumlee has to be at least 20th. Guys from 21-32 usually suck hard, so saying he has no business going anywhere in the first round is a bit harsh. Plumlee has size and good athleticism for his size; I could see him being productive as a board crasher/help defender off the bench. Where he's got killed this year is trying to go 1-on-1 against anyone resembling an NBA Center or defending said quality players.

I got Plumlee as a woat type name for an NBA player.

Who will Stern rig the lottery for this year? After all, this is his last year to rig it. He's gotta make a big splash rig imo.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Watch it happen too.

Depending on what happens with SAC (Seattle!?) maybe they get the rig #1.
