DX actually has their mock draft history:

You can do that with any other players.

This year is flipped because the wing is the eliter of the two, Noel is less iffy, but Shabazz has a pretty solid graph:

Huh?

Brow was by far the consensus #1 pick last year. He was the #1 pick coming in to the year, for the season, and after the season

he was #1 as of 4/11/2011 on DE and never moved until the draft over a year later

IOW, people like reading "who will be #1?!?!?!" articles

I feel that the mock draft histories from DX that you've graciously made me aware of seem to undermine your earlier point:

Noel and Shabazz have been the top 2 since Noel reclassified; Noel started the season #1 but has now dropped to #2 behind Shabazz - in contrast, Davis was the #1 coming into the season and was never close to letting it go, whereas DX never had Rivers higher than 8th and he was already hovering around 15 by this time last year, where he would spend most of the season.

Yeah Rivers was a highly rating recruit but apparently never highly thought of by the draftniks. I can't find a good source for old mock drafts.

Kyrie took his #1 spot in late December,

Rose in May:

Griffin was like Kyrie:

My point that I'm trying to make is that if Shabazz ends up as the number 1, that dude from ESPN can and will write the same ****ing article about the #1 pick in 2014, even though it's totally gonna be Wiggins.

As far as I recall, Anthony Davis was the best bet to be #1 entering last year and solidified that opinion after his first 4 or 5 games.

Drummond + Barnes were the hot tickets as #'s 2/3 that slid iirc

This thread is probably the best place to re-visit the progression of mocks:

All I was saying is Davis was the closest thing to a lock at #1 as we've had in a long time

he spent like 15 months at #1 on DE

Yeah Davis was elite for sure. He was more a lock than most.

Shabazz is a different case regardless, there's not really attractive options to replace him

Zeller is nice, but there's so little chance he's an elite NBA player

I think Bazz would have to have a Barnes-type poor showing to keep NBA GMs from gambling on that upside

These mock histories are awesome, can you find them by total draft list, and not just player

Would wanna see Rose's year

Although I'm pretty sure Rose and Beas jus swapped

Nerlins with 7 blocks today. Another efficient game from Poythress and Goodwin looked pretty solid too. sick life for coach cal

Hi-Top fade has 19 blocks his last 3 games. Gobert has been exposed as fraud. A guy with downs syndrome is the best PG in the nation and Zeller remains Caucasian. fk this class

Trey Burke doesn't have downs syndrome

What's a probably 1RM for bench for Gobert? 7'9 wingspan... like 135?

McAdoo's stats vs top 100 teams (Indiana, Butler, Texas)

93 minutes
34 points
13-37 FGA
8-16 FTA
3 Assts
13 TOV's

UNC is 0-3 in those games.

How far down is he going to slide? Is he even going to go pro this year?

I think he's already fringe/out of the lotto. He'll probably go and get drafted like 19th and never be heard from again
