Jason Kidd is opting for zone mostly vs Twolves to give Antman the “LeBron” treatment that the 2011 Mavs did. That’s why the Twolves shot so many 3s in game 1.

Two things:

1. The Wolves are a slightly better shooting team than the 2011 Heat

2. Tyson Chandler was better in 2011 than and any current Mavs big

Not saying this can't work, but the risk is higher

I also think the 2024 Wolves can rebound better than the 2011 Heat, so the zone carries more risk there, too, no?
