For some reason I hate Zep but I love a lot of bands that are influenced by them, I can't even put my finger on why and it doesn't strictly make any sense that I should dislike them

im not a zepp fan either. ive forced myself to hear a lot of their stuff but it just doesnt really stick with me. like, i never have any desire to jam out to lz. its not displeasing, it sounds ok, and sometimes i do enjoy it, but usually im just meh.

Lol Jay-Z is not a bad pick, way too much hate. He knows what people want better than anyone and is talented enough to give it to them. He didn't get to where he is by accident.

Plus, his experience actually running a studio should be useful.

yeah, same, though I like them more now than I did back in HS. certain songs I dig.

BTW, I was deciding between EJ and Page before all this happened - so obviously thumbs up to that pick.

Needle also made it pretty clear he's making a rap/hip-hop studio so Jay-Z is super standard with his first pick. He'll agree it's not the greatest value and it isn't but it's still fine imo.

I don't own a LZ shirt and I'm not one of those die-hards - i enjoy their music though. I heard a story where he gets the nicest violin bows on the market and goes through them like candy in practice/shows.

2. What "kind" of music do you mean when you say you're not into it? He wrote great pop songs like Hey Jude, emotional songs like Yesterday, rock songs like Helter Skelter. He was poppy at times, then he put out stuff that was anything but pop music later on.
