Some dude in Thailand has been awake for over 30 years.

Haha. Looks like you have some serious competition coming from the city of brotherly love though. KafkaPoe has 4 OP's in the past 2 hours.

Time to step up your game.

Couldn't find anything in a brief search, but I remember hearing about a condition that prevented sleep entirely. Infants born with the disorder died within 6 months (perhaps it was that they didn't enter a REM state, not that they couldn't sleep...). Bottom line I'd be very skeptical of the claim.

Favre has been luckier. Personally, I think Ripken's is more amazing.

I'm not going to argue about whether someone thinks Ripken's is better than Favre's, since its just a matter of opinion. But I don't think its fair to say that Favre was luckier. He played through a ton of injuries (as did Ripken ldo).

At least Favre had a reason to start every game. There was no reason Ripken shouldn't have sat every once in a while.

doug jarvis isn't mentioned here and that's a ridiculous oversight. pretty sure he wins hands down here. NHL players take much more punishment than MLB players and play many more games than NFL players.

I came in here, looked at the poll, and was disgusted Doug Jarvis wasn't included. A hockey player takes waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more abuse than a QB. You also play more than one game a week and get little rest between shifts. Favre is a weeny.

This post might work better if you didn't act like football players are soft in comparison to hockey players.

Oh, and the fact that not many people really care about hockey.
