Round #2 Pic #42 Chauncey Billups 6'3 PG
I know this is techincally a reach in terms of BPA as in a vaccum I think there are a good 5-10 better players than Billups, however no one left in the draft can do what he can, and that is defend/shoot at a ridiculously elite level at the PG spot. He is one of the best shooters ever, shooting ft's at .886 for his career (been a lot higher these last few years), Shoots .385 career from 3's (also been a lot higher during his peak). His true shooting percentage has been in the .600's multiple times during his career as well. He is always among the elite PG defenders, and imo is one of the top 5 best PG defenders in this draft (mostly due to a lack of elite PG defenders). He is also a very good dribbler/post up guard/passer. He does it all, and ontop of that he is clutch, his name isn't big shot for a reason. He was imo the most underrated player in the last 5 years (although he recently has started getting well deserved props). He is still 31 years old and yet to decline.
Also at the end of the game, when I am leading, I am always confident getting in his hands with his ridiculous ft shooting.
People say it took a while for him to break out, which is true, but a lot of those years were before he turned 24. At the age 24 I already get him just 2 years before he offically blew up in Detriot. Also both those years in Minnesota, he actually did a very good job in limited minutes (his 3pt/ft) were very good, and he played pretty good d which also continued to improve. He also is very durable, never missing less than 70 games in a season and a lot of the times in the high 70's/low 80's.
