Bird was drafted but then played his final year at college.

But I think you know this already.

I know trading is allowed but I say go forward KLJ. I kinda like this draft without the element of trading. Just my opinion but you can wait a bit I suppose.

klj,

i already told him that i would trade all my picks for all his, so i'm pretty sure he won't want yours, seeing as i had pierce.

believe the ruling said Rookie Year. Otherwise Assani would have backed up the requirement to include Bird, as the "modern era" is when Bird and Magic joined.

Pierce is an awesome pick. I'd rather have him than a lot of the guys picked ahead of him (TMac, Drexler, Nique, Kidd, Miller, just to name a few).

totally not bias btw

That seems a little biased to me.

Hey Assani/Shark,

after KLJ picks, can you put a round 1 summary in the picks thread? Or maybe get Clark to put it in OP?

Someone do it, I'll edit it in. Once a round updates seem fine. I'm doing quite enough editing, PMing, etc so I'm all for someone else updating. Would be interesting to also see, in addition to the top 40 in order, position order (i.e. ranking centers in order taken, etc.)

we should vote on best pick and worst pick of the round.

GKA and I just talked about this over the phone and we agreed on the glove as the best pick and worthy as the worst.

votes suck a little just cuz a new thread is needed. But I was thinking of doing a round 1 report card and summary.

Well, that's that then.

Best pick is Jordan. But ignoring like say the top 10 which were all pretty obv, best picks to me were Payton, Mutombo, and Brand.

Worst Isiah. Really not hot on the TMac pick either, or the Worthy one.

I'll take it one player at a time
Jordan, yes
Payton, yes
Deke, good pick, but not one of the best
Brand, see Deke
Isiah, I kinda see where the hate comes from, but I wouldn't compare it to Worthy badness
T-Mac, it really depends on how you're going to vote because at his peak he was a complete-I'm-as-good-as-any-guard-not-named-Jordan stud
Worthy, lol

I can't edit anything in. If you or anyone else want this done then write it up and PM it to a mod.

The first 10 or so picks are pretty much ineligible since nobody would call them good picks simply because they were easy to make, so I think this exercise will be a lot better for future rounds, but I'll still give it a go....

Best
1. Pippen @25
2. Ewing @18
3. Payton @26

Worst
1. Zeke @15
2. Clyde @19
3t. Nique @24
3t. Worthy @37

All of my worst picks are 80s/early 90s guys so maybe I'm just underrating the older guys though.

I'm an admitted Vince hater and am adamant that pierce > vince, but I def underrate him and don't mind this pick.

Yeah. Obviously biased but I'm more and more happy with that pick in that spot as things go on.

guys I'm writing a recap right now so no one else do it.

Just listing each pick and I'll do the position breakdown like ClarkNizzle suggested.

I thought Pippen was best value pick of the round. Payton obviously great too.

I didn't really like the Isiah pick or the Worthy pick either.
