Who did I list that's even close to being picked?

it's not so much that as it's a rule. we shouldn't have to "draw a line" between who should be allowed to be talked about and who shouldn't as that has great derailment possibilities.

You argue that Hill loses a few years of value by starting at 24. You lose Webber's BEST years because of the same reason. Webber was arguably better in college than he was the majority of his career in the NBA because of how explosive he was around the hoop at Michigan.

I'm sure playing college kids had nothing to do with how good Webber looked by comparison...

It was a bad example but a good point. An injury prone players doesn't get hold off his injuries for the end of his career. His injuries are throughout his career.

From age 24 grant hill played 80, 80, 81, 50 (strike season), and 74 games with PER's of 25.5, 21.2, 23.9, and 24.5. He is a fantastic pick in the format of this league.

I also like him alot as an analyst because he's incredibly well spoken, so +1.

Yeah, that's what I meant by a couple of seasons, probably a poor choice of words.
I personally like the Webber pick because in his prime he's so much better than someone like marion, it's not funny.
I like the justification for the Miller and Mutumbo picks, even though they are a few players that could have been argued to be better selections.
You really want your round pick to be special. Given the format (very deep league), teams are not going to be loaded with all star talent. 1to 3 our teams are going to be significantly worse than an nba contender. (look who got picked in the first round sotckton+ malone, yao + tmac, Jordan and Pipen, Nash, Marion Amare....)
However our teams are all going to be pretty deep since we're picking only 260 players (basically the top ten players). There will be no scrub in ths draft. Jacques Vaugh is not going to be your backup point guard., but your going to have a team of 9 very solid nba players.
That's why you want to have your first pick to be do somthing special, although it's obviously much tougher nwo than for the first pick. Mutumbo give you a defense all by himself, Miller some elite volume shooting, that's good.
Marion while very good is not good enough in an area to justify this pick. He's great in a team with glaring needs, like in phoenix, where his abilty to finish, rebound and defend was invaluable to the team. I think that you should be able to have a team good enough to reduce the use of a truly versatile player like him.

fine I'm convinced Hill is a very good pick. Still not hot on Reggie pick and think Mutombo went 5-10 picks too late.

Like kidcolin, I think Dikembe was a really good pick. Shoring up the center spot with a very solid player is a good thing.

Reggie as a standalone cornerstone is tough to imagine, but once the rest of the team is picked I bet this pick will look pretty good.

Grant Hill was so ****ing filthy in his prime. I always forget that since I really only started following the NBA for his post-ankle/staph era. There are points in that video where it looks like he's surprised even himself with how much air he got.

Since Grant Hill won't 100% miss all the time he did in this format, he is also far from 100% to avoid injuries in the 5 seasons you mentioned.

I think it's just very difficult to argue any of these "oft-injured" guys picks. All of them could have been considered one of the greats, so it basically just boils down to how you rate their injury problems.

So Tbach and Serg will win championships right away... then trade those guys to horrible GMs like the guys who drafted Bird and Shaq.
