Again, so he's an insanely high usage rate at just under league average. Yes, he epitomizes bulk shooter. But I still love him!

What was he been since joining Denver? For the first time surrounded by legit weapons. Plus, he's now past his prime by several years. Hasn't his TS% gone up a bunch since the trade? To me at least, that would suggest that in his prime surrounded by real players he'd have been pretty awesome.

Or, maybe it hasn't gone up at all and I'm smoking dope.

ok, I just looked it up.

If you treat his denver-only stats from last year and his stats this year as two "seasons", then the best two TS% seasons of his career are with Denver (.545 and .567.) This despite being past his prime. I think one can make the argument that given actual offensive talent around him at any point in his prime he would've been even better than that.

Clark - I don't think anyone would dispute that. Actually, it's a common argument (that with more weapons, your usage should go down but efficiency up, with fewer weapons, your usage goes up but efficiency down)

However, his overall PER wouldn't likely change that much, since it takes into account USG. (And is sometimes maligned for that)

WHERE IS TDARKO?

Good point Clark. And I think you can take it a step further and say that he really isn't surrounded by talent in Denver. Of all the teams in the NBA, they have to be in the bottom 5 with regards to jumpshooters. So like he did in Philly, he still has to deal with a defense that sags his direction. I wonder how he'd do on a team like Phoenix with high % outside shooters who's men can't cheat off them..

WOOO TD picks marion. I can't write up my whole description now but I'm taking Grant Hill. I stayed up to make the pick IMO. I'll have a report up sometime tomorrow but don't hold me to that as I have 15 papers to write tomorrow IMO.

I can honestly say that I never thought about Marion. Can't hate on it though, because he will be easy to build around and you've got another pick coming very shortly.

Yeah. You lose some of his best years due to the age thing, then the injuries rain down like tears of a wasted first round pick.

Quickly, IMO Hill >>> Pippen.

From wikipedia:

"After the first six seasons of his career, before his ankle injury, Hill had a total of 9,393 points, 3,417 rebounds and 2,720 assists. Oscar Robertson and Larry Bird are the only two players in league history to eclipse these numbers after their first six seasons."

And for stats nerds, great PER and also a very good defensive player and great distributor.

It was a freak injury that got brutalized due to Hill's wanting to prove himself to the Piston fans.
