Off-topic, going w/ earlier off-topic stuff:

I met Nick Collison in Lawrence @ the Yacht club on Saturday. Talked to him for about 3 minutes and he's going to be in OKC next year and thinks they're keeping Durant @ the SG position. He was nice, esp. considering I was just some random drunk dude that started talking to him during the KU/Sam Houston St. game.

so it looks like:

FaDi could use another true bigman, as he's going to play Brad Miller, PJ Brown, then Roy Hinson as the 1st big off the bench. He has stable rebounding and his bigs can shoot and pass decently, so perhaps a weakside oriented big?

SammyKid could use a backup PG (unless he wants Head getting those mins) and an insurance policy on Yao Ming (only other true big is Kurt Thomas). He nailed 3pt shooting with his past 2 picks, so perhaps get a PG that is a decent passer, and a bigman who doesn't have health issues.

Alex is set with guards and bigs, so I guess another wing couldnt hurt? Dude doesn't figure to get any minutes, but maybe a defense oriented "glue" type player... any of those Posey identical guys still around?

Biiiiiig doesn't have a backup for the dream, as his next tallest player is David West. So I guess may as well get a poor mans, poor mans, poor mans Hakeem.

Does anyone want to just take teams and figure out who to grab? These guys have all had weeks and it's about time we finish this thing off.

Finish off Sammykid then since he has two players to go and he hasn't logged on in two weeks, it's time we finished this off and Assani seems to be MIA.

Yeah it's sad because now that this draft is over it should be the time where the best discussion happens because we all have finalized teams and stuff.

I think it's cause we had like 10 bad owners who slowed this draft down and everyone lost interest.

Anyway we def should try to round up everyone and discuss/vote/make a playoffs etc.

I still really like Alex's team. It has a good balance of very good offense and some defense. Good bench players, although I think Mobley might have went too high. I might take a guy like Brandon Bass or some other combo forward, hustle/rebound type guy. There's a lot of offense between Al J and Kobe, you don't need another outside threat so a guy who can crash the boards is nice change of pace from Lewis.

FaDi... I'm not sure what the plan here is. Lot of offense but PJ Brown is not nearly enough to make that defense respectable. This team does need another big, but I don't think the team is deep enough at the SG spot either since you can't play Hedo at SG and Peja at SF, it would be too awful on the defensive end. So I might take a guy like Delonte West who can play both PG and SG (this team lacks talent at both) and can play pretty good D.

Sammy needs a big and could also use a guy like Delonte West who is a better PG than Luther Head.

Biiig needs a big.

Lamar Odom is 6-10. They always list Hakeem at 7'0 but say he was more like 6'10. David West is 6'9. Antoine Carr is 6'9. I don't have twin towers or anything but I don't think height is a problem on my squad. I opted for more versatile backup big men not just tall guys that have to be under the basket. With my team Hakeem is going to be on the court about 40 minutes a game. I think Carr West and Odom in combinations for short periods of time will be fine.

I think we should just DQ the owners who we can't round up (the 10 or so who weren't active for the end of the draft, there team's sucked anyway) and start this playoff system up.

Completely agree.

Also, while I love the NFL modern era draft, I think it's going to steal some attention from the writeups/playoffs.

I think this is every pick still remaining, let's just start filling in these spaces so we can finally move on to the ranking part of the draft.

Ok fillling needs and drafting in order with best players available in my opinion as per their draft order spots.

1st skipped pick goes to Fadi, who can use an athletic wing since Peja and Hedo are shooting jumpers all game long. We will pick Fransico Garcia who is not only a great 3pt threat shooting it at 391% but also a great slasher and gets out on the open floor quite well.

2nd skipped pick goes to sammykid. With this pick were going to give him a better back up point guard because we dont want luther head playing many minutes. We will go with Larry Drew. Very solid, efficient point guard who shot over 46% from the field and averaged 11 points -5 assits per game. With a peak year of 20points 8 assits 3 boards and 2 steals.

3rd skipped pick looks like tony allen was taken for this pick, im not sure.

4th skipped pick goes to alex who can use another big wing. Since his team is pretty much full, with not that many minutes left over lets go with a guy with some upside potential and great defense. Trevor Ariza.

5th skipped pick goes to biigchipps. This teams offense is so powerfull I want to give it some nasty defensive presence and we will go with Chris dudley. Although Dudleys offensive numbers are horrible, he shot 40% over his career. During his peak years he averaged 5 shot attempts while grabbing 4 offensive rebounds per game so he pretty much only shoots on tip ins or put backs. While bringing 9 boards a game during peak years and 2 blks per game this will help hold down the fort for hakeems 2-3 minute rests.

I did not look over if the teams I made picks for have made picks recently or after the post I am quoting was made. All I did is quote the post made before and picked players for the teams.

I pmed assani and he told me to go ahead and pick the players for the teams that needed it so here it is I want to get this thing finished before everyone gets lost in the NFL thread which could already be too late.

The NFL draft is going slow anyway so we should have no problem discussing this as well.

Anyway I told everyone in the NFL thread i'd be in charge of PMing everyone and getting this **** orginized again so we can start discussing what format we want to use to determine the winner.

I'll start pming people in the next 2-3 days, if someone wants to do it before then they are welcome to but if not i'll just do it.

Definitely too awesome to die.

EPi's bang on with the DQ idea, I was thinking the same just before reading his post. If the owners can't even be bothered to finish picking their team, what's the point of having them around?

Totally random, but I had a chat with Ervin Johnson at brunch this morning. He was surprised that he got drafted in this thing.
