if there is a list of all people who have been drafted already, that would speed things up, as going through 1500 posts to find the people drafted it taking some time

I kinda think the Amare pitch is a large stretch. Some of my favorite parts of the post:

Quote:
he is possibly the most explosive player in the nba today and ever

Not eligible per rules that you must be rookie in 1980 or later.

Agreed w/ Amare could be most explosive ever. I don't get the hate for that comment either. He's definitely not shy about attacking the rim off the pick and roll.

He's playing with one of the greatest passers in NBA history. The argument is that if you put Chris Wilcox in that offense he'd be doing just as well.

FWIW I disagree with the above to an extent. It's just the argument surrounding Amare at this point.

He certainly would get the backboard vote.

I dunno, its tough to say. Shaq certainly had more power, and while he was v v quick, he's not as fast as Amare, and prob couldnt jump as high. Its tough to quantify "explosive". That said, Amare's inclusion in a "most explosive players ever" discussion certainly is not LOL, regardless of how you define the term.

Players eligible to be drafted will be anyone that played in the NBA in the "modern era." I'm going to define this as players who played their rookie year in 1979-80 or later.

For some reason, I really felt that Zo was going to be overlooked.
It's definitely a solid pick, but kind of conservative. He's a good type of player to build around, but not as awesome and talented as the SFs.

just c+p the whole post.

Man, I commented about Zo to JoA in a few PMs. I thought he was going to be a mega-value pick in the second round somewhere. Figured he would slip.

I think I like this pick. Zo was sickkkkk until the kidneys. However, he had injury concerns pre-kidneys. Never played 80 games. A stretch of 70, 66, and 58 right in his prime (almost got fooled by his 49 games in the next season, but that was the strike shortened season).

Still, dude was a beast.
