WOW works because I think it does a good job of capturing who good defenders are (by giving defensive rebounding a lot of weight) but at the same time that kind of hurts it (by overvaluing a guy like Jason Kidd)
PER's probably a better offensive metric, but I think it overvalues chuckers a little bit.
There are others, but they're reall more of the same. I guess if you look at them all, and put them all on the same scale, you could probably just average them and have a decent metric.
This... I think that anyone who ranks highly(or poorly) in one metric alone can be dismissed, but if you're sitting at or near the top of all of them (Duncan, KG), than you must be pretty freaking good.
And Camby is waay waay overrated by Wow. I love the guy, but he's a pretty bad basketball player overall. Offensively he's less than zero, and defensively he's very Raja-like in his overrated-ness.
