....and we're not talking about treating it (and the speed of the recovery)....just the point of having cancer period.
i may end up missing a season (like this previous one) where he's rehabbing from the loss of a ball. hopefully not though.

I'm going to cut your face-melter a new one.

Anyway I like the Cuttino pick, but I have a couple slight nitpicks. The first is his defense, which I think Alex may be underrating. We might have to bring a few Clips guys in to verify, but I've always considered him to be a better than average defender. The second gripe I have is with your take on his shooting makeup. Cuttino had <20% of his field goals come from inside, so I wouldn't consider him to be a "get to the hole" type of player.

im with assani on this one. its not like cancer just pops out of the blue one day, **** is gradual and based on lifestyle and genetics.

that said, its not like testicular cancer is very life threatening, but him getting it (and then dealing with the complications of treating the cancer) seems pretty probable.

slightly below average imo. being from sacramento (and going to school in LA, and loving Yao because I'm asian), I've seen an absolute ton of Cat's Kings/Clippers/Rockets games, and he's below average (although not by much).

pluses that i dont think were mentioned are his professional attitude (and this his work ethic) and his above average durability.

I would never trust an Asian's critique of a players D. All the guys I play with do is call fouls like we're playing in the NBA, and take charges... in freaking pickup games.

just kidding. I'm 1/2 as well. Seriously though, when I play pickup it's mostly with my friends who are all Asian, and they call everything. And yes I tower over them.

Edit: btw, the writeup should read "A starter" not "As starter".

Round 7, Pick 272

Mo Williams PG

http://www.basketball-reference.com/...willima01.html

More later, but Mo is a great fit for my team. Got the defensive stopper Mookie starting and Mo can be a great offensive catalyst for the second unit. Shoots 3's at a very good rate for a PG, and gives me yet another outside threat to work around my bigs.

At 26 this year, his 24 and 25 year old seasons have shown continued improvement, with a very nice TS% of 56.6% last year, and a 3% of 38.5% last year, mirroring the 38.2% he shot at 23yo. In addition, his PER has also improved every year he's been in the league, peaking at 17.0 last year, which is solid value at this point in the draft.

I think he fits in very well with my team, allowing me to do matchups when needed and can even play a little 2 guard in a pinch if we have to.

Current Roster
PG: Mookie Blaylock/Mo Williams
SG: Allan Houston/Del Curry
SF: Caron Butler
PF: Larry Nance
C: Patrick Ewing

Not a bad pick, your right he's a sieve on D though. D doesnt really matter though for PG when you got Mookie.

Round 7, Pick 273: F-C Wayman Tisdale

Wayman is awesome in many ways. First off, look at that hair! Secondly, he's one of the sports musicians out there - better than Bernie Williams, but probably not as good as Rick Carlisle or Peter Gammons. Finally, he's got an awesome name.

On to basketball related matters, Wayman was one of the last great scorers left. He had consistently high usage rates with consistently low turnover rates, and an above average TS%. He even managed to score 22 PPG when he was 25, and that was at a pretty good TS (.565). The list of guys left who have scored 20 PPG in any given year at an above average efficiency is very, very small. In other areas, he's not a very good passer or defender, but he rebounds well enough. He's kind of the anti-AC Green. He can create his own shot and score very well, but he doesn't stand out in any other area.

I expect Wayman to come off the bench and play the minutes at the 4/5 that A.C. Green and Robinson can't play. Should either one of them go down (lol), Tisdale can step in and do a good enough job as a starter to get me through it. Should one of my wing players go down, Green can shift over to the 3 and Tisdale can step in at the 4 - ah, the wonders of versatility.

Some relevant stats:

Age 24 (with IND): 16.0 PPG, 6.5 REB, .570 TS%
Age 24 (with SAC): 19.8 PPG, 9.6 REB, .565 TS%
Age 25: 22.3 PPG, 7.5 REB, .565 TS%
Age 26: 20 PPG, 7.7 REB, .535 TS%
Age 27: 16.6 PPG, 6.5 REB, .529 TS%
Age 28: 16.7 PPG, 7.1 REB, .540 TS%

Career: 15 PPF, 6.1 REB, .543 TS% (15.7 PER)

Good pick. Was on my list, but didn't want to jack you. Plus, Mo is a really good complement to Mookie and not many PGs left can actually shoot at all, so it made sense to leave Tisdale on the board for u.

I really considered Mo Williams, he'd be a nice complement to Porter, too. More or less the same kind of player, the small combo guy who can nail a 3. Also, I was thinking of taking a wing guy (and having McKey split time at SF/PF) but I thought McKey worked best as a wing guy, so I just went ahead and took a big man.

does it really matter? Even if I really like his guy it's not like I can steal it. Plus no way he has my face melter in mind. But sure either way is fine.
