love adams' stat line in 90-91 : 26/10 on 21 fga/g and sub .400 shooting. Its such an aberation from his other years. Coach Westhead just gave up and said, f it mike just make it do what it do.

He took 3s though so it's not all bad. still had a TS% of 53% that year so I know he chucks. When he played more of a lesser role his TS% was quite high.

HIGHLIGHTS

STATS ages 24 and up:

PPG 16.6 - 3.1 AST/G - 526 TS% - .343 3PT% - 4 RPG - 1.4 SPG

I'm taking Stephen Jackson with a bit of reservation. He's been no angel and is bit inefficient for my liking, but I think he makes up that with his versatility, defense, and passing abilities.

Offensively Stephen is a mid/high volume guy with a variety of ways to score and create for his teammates. He can be inconsistent and a bit of a chucker, however I think that with the squad I've got that becomes less of an issue. His ability to post up should work well with the outside shooters I've already got, and his semi-effective outside shot will keep the floor spaced nicely for the big men I have down low. He can also stop and pop, pick and pop, pick and roll, and of course slash Stephen's definitely a guy who can create his own shot, which was a bit lacking on my team.

Defensively he's been above average against guard and smaller wings, but he does tend to get overpowered by stronger 3's. That's no biggie for my squad, with KG and Bobby Phills being able to check those types of players.

Stephen's had his issues with character, but that really hasn't really translated to the locker room and the perceptions of him by his teammates and coaches. Across the board, SJax has been praised by both coaches and teammates, as well as those in the community for his charitable efforts. His on and off-court inconsistency make him a bit of an enigma, which you can take as either a positive or a negative. Either way, I feel that my team is full of enough high-character guys to take someone who might be questionable in that department.

I'm not quite sure how I'd play Stephen, but right now it's looking like he'd be a starter, with Mike Miller coming off the Bench. That's something I'll have to think about further.

sjax is super value here. i think he shoulda went long ago and is better than a lot of the old school guys that were being drafted.

i dont think his attitude is a problem on the court at all.

Adams is fine value here, that one season is just LOL, esp compared to the rest of his career. Its like every chuckers dream - ball in your hands every possession, green light for anything.

I loved Michael Adams as a Nug, and think his high number of shots and relatively low efficiency had more to do with his roles than anything else. The guy was a straight baller and awesome teammate imo. My perception is that he'd take however many shots he was asked to.

Blah, I really wanted Jackson there to give some size to my backcourt. Have it between 3 guys, pick up in 10-15.

53% isnt' really low efficiency and rather high compared to most of the PGs left. A lot of the PGs taken lately are low:

Kenny-50.1%
Jameer-53.7%
Barros-57.2%
Ransey-49.9%
Harris-56%
Fisher-51.6%
Floyd-53%

Of those guys the only one I'd rather have are Harris and maybe Floyd. He's much better than Fisher, Ransey, and Jameer. Kenny had a nice career but not a great peak and Barros is more of a shooter than a PG.

You're right. One of MA's best attributes was his AI-like ability to get to the stripe. That's a pretty valuable trait to have--one that's def lacking on my team

Going to say I love Michael Adams and wanted to take him but had no space on my team for him.

I'm actually surprised Dennis Scott fell this far.

fwiw even though I love Stephen Jackson, he's actually not that good

His 21 shots per game isn't that impressive given the pace that his teams played at. They played at 113.7 possessions per game that season, compare that to the league leader this year, Denver, who clocked in at a touch under 100. His usage rate was high, but not out of this world high like you might think given the high raw amount of shots.

With that Michael Adam's pick, all of these players have now been drafted. Gives me chills just watching it. I think the West roster was better fwiw.

CAn you explain this? What exactly is he so good at? Is it just the offensive rebounding that you're so enamored with?

Not a fan of the Hunter pick. Was really surprised to see that Jameer Nelson has 2 out of 4 seasons with TS% of over 56% btw.

Stephen Jackson is the guy who "I can't believe is still available and I don't want him for my team because he doesn't fit, but the value just might be too big to pass up"...and hell, I said that like 20 picks ago. Insane value there imo.
