I considered Hill over Outlaw with my last pick.....very good value here imo.

I dunno about Mike playing the 4, he has a hard time muscling up to a lot of 3's.

With that said, I think he's great value at this point in the draft. He's got weird career progression, but I think you are getting a very solid bench player at the very least.

and wtf he can not play the 4 what is wrong with you.

I'm not saying he sucks or it's a terrible pick or anything like that.. but let's not go sucking Mike Dunleavy's dick just yet
How does that not get filtered?

Dunleavy CAN play the 4 in a small lineup. The Pacers (yes, under Obie) ran a lineup of unmentionable, unmentionable, Granger, Mike, unmentionable (isn't this fun?) during crunch time alot.

I wouldn't call Dunleavy's other post 24 years BAD. They're mediocre, though.

QFT. I think a lot of the hate is unwarranted. This is the 7th round, taking flyers shouldn't be admonished, imo..

Ah thats funny- see my above post- as he was the guy I was considering too.

What ultimately made my decision for me was injuries, as with Penny/AK47 on my team already I didn't want to take another injury prone guy.

As I said in my writeup, from ages 23-30 Outlaw played 80+ games in every non-strike year. Compare that to Tyrone Hill's games played during the same age span: 82, 74, 57, 70, 44, 74, 57, 38(strike year).

That really was the deciding factor, but even without that I think that Hill is probably the better player, but Outlaw is the better player for my team.

Hill's advantage over Outlaw is that he scores in slightly more bulk and is a better rebounder. However, I don't need more scoring in bulk. And while having a great rebound can never hurt your team, I already have one(Duncan) and every single guy on my team is a plus at rebounding for his position except AK47 when he plays PF(but hes a plus when he plays SF). Therefore, I didn't really see myself needing those two things.

Outlaw's edge over Hill is that hes a much better defender(especially in blocks/steals but also in straight up D as well imo) and is slightly more efficient. Both of those were very important to my team when I picked role players imo.

Let me add in that I think many people are greatly underestimating Outlaw's defense. In his best years he was putting up years of 3.3 blocks/2.0 steals and 3.3 blocks/1.6 steals per 36 minutes, and his career averages(which are greatly weighed down by later years of course) still come out to 2.1 blocks/1.5 steals per 36 minutes. The guy was a stud on D imo.

And guess what? Those lineups sucked. I even looked it up on 82games. Any lineup where he could concievably be the 4 they sucked. I say conceivably because although I didn't watch a ton of Pacers games, I'd guess Granger would be much more suited to slide over to the 4 than Dunleavy, and 82games data suggests that. MDJ played 1% of Pacers' PF minutes, Granger 31%.

You just got ****ed in the ass.

I started a joke and now I'm lost. You serious? You like Krytykal's STAND UP REMIX song?

I'm not sure I'm in shape to play uber-competitively but I'm down for some pick-up action. PM me.. or alternatively, we can go back and forth in the thread. Because lots of people are in Sac and might find this information useful.

They probably had Granger assigned to the 4 and MDL assigned to the 3 (according to 82games) but when watching the games it looked like it was the reverse. So, I would say MDJ played 31% PF mins and Granger 1%.

OH SNAP!

D

PS Especially in this league, Dunny gets eaten alive at the 4.

PPS Dunny's stats are better than I expected, especially this past season. poor mans' Detlef is a good comparison, whoever said that.

Alright, I won't use him at the 4, jeez. I said mainly 3 and 2 anyway in my write-up. I think he's a badass and clearly a steal in round 7.

it wasn't a challenge it was making fun of Assani. I'm not very good anymore.

I'm swamped with work with this week and this weekend is of 4th of July so I'll probably be in the Bay Area with my sis, but sometime after that I'm good.

I usually play at some weak courts behind the school on the corner of J and Alhambra. The courts are mad short and not all the rims are that great. I never really venture to south sac but I'm down with wherever.

Given how early a lot of other guys went, Dunleavy is real good value here.
