Ugh....I love waking up early, driving to the Rio, and finding out that today's event is sold out.

Bobbo,

I'll play whenever. I think Eddie may want to play, but hes sleeping...no clue when he'll be up. When is good for you?

This has been randomly bothering me all thread. You guys know things like PMs, email(ok maybe not Assani), instant messengers, and cell phones all exist right? You know, ways to communicate where we don't all have to read your personal conversations.

Almost all of the non basketball posts in this thread(such as yours) could've been said via PM too. Its just more convenient not to. For example, tell me why you didn't just PM us regarding this but instead elected to post it here for everyone to see.

I think I'll use this thread as another personal blog, just to spite you MEb.

~~

The reason it's relevant, MEb, is that many other people are around Vegas, and if they read that we're going to play, they may decide to join us. In fact, others already have, and others are supposed to eventually play (nath??? :P)

I understand what you're saying though.

Victor,

How are you today? Has poker been going well for you recently? Are you here for the WSOP or just staying at home this year? Hope all is well....

2pm sounds swell Bobbo. Hopefully Eddie will be up by then. As for me, I just bought Guitar Hero Aerosmith and am going to go rock out.

Oh and also, my pool basketball hoop arrived two days ago...tons of fun. Its actually a full size hoop and can be raised high enough where its somewhat challenging to shoot.

league average ts% usually ranges from about .530-.540, but it dipped in the late 90s to about .520. Calculated it myself (it's really easy).

JoA, where can I find the other stat averages? I think I may calculate that stuff myself, but it seems like it will take a lot of work and that info SHOULD be available somewhere.

Ya I almost took him with my Gerald wallace pick, then thought that he will probobly drop further. So I waited and then had to take a 3 point shooter so I took gordon, and then what do you know he was still available to me here. Great value, and I might even start him.

Also, I can find no references to Woolridge ever being called Wooly Bully. How is this not an awesome nickname?

Round #7/Pick #255: Eddie A. Johnson

Before I explain why Eddie Johnson is awesome, I'll let him do it for me. Just like the rest of my team, Johnson peaked early, which further solidifies my chances to contend in the first 5 years.

Defensively, Eddie will be below average in this league, which is why I'm happy that he'll have diminished defensive responsibility coming off the bench. However, Eddie shined offensively throughout his career. During his peak (which I'm going to arbitrarily define as the 11 years following and including his age-24 season), Eddie scored over 20 points per 36 in every season, with a total TS% of .538. His full per 36 stats over this period are: 21.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 0.8 steals in 77 games per year. He did this playing 29 mpg (obviously higher in his earlier years) and won the Sixth Man of the Year award in 88-89.

Reasoning:
Eddie Johnson further solidifies my bench, providing a consistent and durable spark off the bench. I believe he is easily the best wing scorer available, and am surprised he lasted this long. He has a good basketball IQ (he released a dvd called "Eddie Johnson's Jumpshot and Offensive Skills"), and will be a great locker room guy (has been a color commentator in both the NBA and the WNBA, and is also a motivational speaker).

My team is far:
PG: Kenny "The Jet" Smith
SG: Sid "The Squid" Moncrief
SF: Vince "Vinsanity" Carter
PF: Antonio McDyess
C: Mark Eaton
BN: Joe Barry Carroll (PF/C)
BN: Eddie A. Johnson (SG/SF)

battschr, you are on the clock...
