Googs - I really like this pick. Tom's efficiency numbers during his peak were actually pretty good, as was his defense in my opinion. What I liked most about him was his basketball IQ, which I always felt was very good.

Kerry Kittles - Seems about right. It's a shame about the injuries.

Armon Gilliam - I like him as long as Barkley is not on the team Seriously, I really like the fit with Rony as Armon had a very efficient jump shot.

Antonio Davis - Seems like solid value.

I'll go with Wesley Person. I think he's fallen rather spectacularly and I'm thrilled about it. Negatives...his ball-handling and passing weren't great -- certainly won't be playing point for us. He was only an average rebounder for his size and I remember there being some questions about his in-game stamina a little bit. But that works perfectly with him coming off my bench.

Positives. Well, shooting 46% for his career as a guard and 42% from three is a pretty amazing find this late in the draft. He has quick feet and was always more than a competent perimeter defender. Most of the relevant years we'll be looking at his PER was mid-teens. He continues my team's dominance at the FT line (don't fouls us). He's a great guy to bring off my bench to help guard particularly troubling 2's and 3's and also make other team's talented wings guard someone that they can't leave alone on the three-point line. We'll use him a lot against guys like Jordan and Kobe to keep the pressure on...give them someone to chase around screens all night long. And of course, in situations where a three-ball is needed, he's money. Beefs up the backcourt, giving Finley an opportunity to rest. I think he pairs very well when Yao and Kurt Thomas are on the floor at the same time...put him and Bibby and sometimes Finley out behind the arc and you've got some dangerous range to defend.

Woolridge is such a steal, the only problem is the drugs which is why I stayed away from him.

Yeah, I'd forgotten about the drugs thing. Woolridge was another player I had noticed (though I probably wasn't taking him).

Ugh, I don't pick for so long. I know who I want with my next two, but I don't have the capital to move up. I'll be lucky if one of them falls to me

Thing is I bet a lot more people have drug problems that have been picked already that we don't know about. Woolridge's problems were just publicized.

Methinks Nopair has the best instant offense bench right now between Gordon and Woolridge. Those guys are going to come in and light it up.

I'm really surprised he didnt go earlier, especially because he is Top 100 in the holy grail of basketball stats that is Career TS%. Even with the drugs, he had a long and productive career, so this isn't like a Vin Baker thing. I don't really count it against him.

I like Person as well, great pickup this late. Top 5 in career TOV% (lowest), but that's probably because if he got his hands on the ball, he just shot it. Not like Wes is a great or even good defender, but he's 6'6" which has to count for something, and nearly all of the 3 pt specialists left are much smaller than that. Those other guys you can just post up and shoot over, but I don't think the same is true of Wes.

No time for a full writeup, but I'm taking Jameer Nelson. Solid passer and outside shooter, he should be able to give me a solid 20 minutes per game while bringing a different skill set than Tony Parker.

Nelson kinda flew under my radar, but now looking - his numbers are good. He wouldn't have been my pick, but he's v v close - so I like it.

pretty meh on Nelson. I think he's OK, and if he has 4 or 5 straight years like this past one it's great, but who knows. He's been all over the place. I think you could get similar talent with a longer history.

I love the Kenny Anderson pick and think he is much much better then the Nelson pick (granted I haven't looked at Nelson's #s, just going off of memory). I was going to take him with my next pick if he was there.

Kenny Anderson is a v bad shooter - from what I remember, his shot selection was really bad. That said, he was a very good passer. He's going to produce more spectacular moments than Nelson, but at the same time, he's going to have more WTF moments as well.

One more thing about Anderson - great ballhandler, love the low TOV% for a PG.

Does anyone think that if they had 10 picks in a row right now they could make a quasi competitive team?

I always confuse him w/ another guy that shall remain nameless since he'll likely get drafted soon. I think he addresses a need for your team; was a solid player and wont hurt your team; and he was one of the BPA for that given need. So, nicely done.

Orlando Woolridge
Reading through comments I'm torn on this one. I noticed him but didn't know he had such drug problems - it LOOKED as though he was relatively durable, but that is a big negative. Anyway, talent-wise, looks like you got a steal. Off-tangent note is that since the Bynum pick, you've done an incredible job with your team. You're right that he is a heinous defender, so putting him at the 5 just screams trouble. He does get to the line a decent amount which is a good positive...

Jameer Nelson
I'm not sold on him. I have him on my remaining list of PGs, but there are 3 clearly better PGs, and a few I'd rather have whether you're looking for balance, shooting, passing or defense. He also can't play the 2, and since TP can play many minutes, I think Nelson's "importance" is rather nil so this is a pick that is pretty meh.

Kenny Anderson
Ok, like him. He was my 2nd best remaining PG, dude could flatout pass/create. Again, like Dudd, I don't think either of you addressed a need (I'd rather have seen Dudd grab an on-ball defender for a wing or a good rebounding big, and MEb doesn't need passing w/ Moore). In terms of talent though, he's up there...

Edit: Kenny has his faults, like his shooting + shot selection, but overall his other attributes make up for it imo.

regarding Kenny, too much value to pass up, and no other need elsewhere that would have been worth force picking a not as good player, or a player who wouldn't have fit into my style of play as well.

Also, the biggest knock anyone could try to bring up on Moore is that he was basically a 30 MPG player, but I'm pretty happy to have him play 30 and Kenny play 18 a game.

Not at all imo.
