agree with this. I think Melo gets hated on far too much. Reports had it that Denver turned down a Chauncey+Prince offer for him a few days ago...shows his value(both in that they turned it down and that Detroit offered).

I bet Detroit wishes they had a chance to draft Melo. Oh wait...

I actually HATE him shooting. He's just so good in the post and off the dribble, so I don't see why he doesn't just work on defense and rebounding, and not getting DUI's.

Xorbie or D, can you PM your writeup to a mod and have them edit into my post in the draft thread please.

I can hardly believe they turned this up. I love Melo, but thats such good value. Chauncey, AI, Tay, KMart/Nene, and Camby w/ a very good cast of roleplayers?! That team would be awesome, as long as they ditch George Karl. They would be tough tough tough. They would be a little soft defensively in the backcourt since they wouldn't have anyone who is solid defensively in the 6'5 to 6'7 range to stick on big SGs, but Chauncey is still pretty good against bigger players.

[Denver Homer] I would even favor that team over LA for the west next year [/Denver Homer]

I Horford as much as anyone on this board, and I pretty much agree with this. As good as he would be to build a real team around right now, he doesn't fit into this league near as well.

As, wrt Dampier, players like him were why I hadn't drafted a true C yet. I'm still plenty confident I can get a player of his caliber in the 8th, and another big body in the 9th. My 10th pick is a face-melter in waiting.

This is why u actually need to watch the games to evaluate some stuff like this, that's my whole point

Epipen, I've watched plenty of games though. You keep saying that as if I never watch games and you do all the time. In fact, I'm 99% positive that I've seen more of the older players in actual games than you have based upon what you've said throughout the thread.

I'm saying on the points of Al Jefferson and Perkins....I'm sure u watched more games of other players than I have, but def not those 2 (or other Celtics)

Melo can pass.. A lot of his assist decline this year was being without their best PnR guy... oh and having like 0 shooters around him. Seriously, the dude played awesome this last year. Playoffs excluded of course. His biggest weakness imo is the offensive fouls, he seems to get like one a game.

Ditch AI he's cloggin up too many minutes and dominates the ball too much.

I'd put a good amount of money on NBA Jam the SNES version if anyone wants to meet up in person and is close to the Boston area provided I get to be the Hornets.

Man, Barkley/KJ is the best team in the SNES/Sega games.

No way Hornets with Mourning/LJ and it's not even close.

Give me Sactown over the Suns.

EDIT: Sega sucks too, way too easy to goaltend on 3's and one side is easier than the other to do it on (forgot which side)

Ok...get ready to run me out of the forum...but I have to ask:

Am I the only one that would have considered Shaq at #1?

In this league it's a viable strategy and I love Michael.

So wait...you're challenging us to a bet but you demand to be the best team("and its not even close"!!!!!). What a weak challenge. A real challenge:

I can beat anyone at Tecmo Super Bowl for NES even though I havn't touched the game for at least 2 years(probably longer actually). We will draft all of the teams then play a bunch of matches where if you lose with one of your teams, they're out. Will prop bet anyone here in Vegas? Any takers?

well some people think it's close, heck Meb doesn't even think it's the best team.

Anyway fine, I will challenge anyone in super mario kart for SNES, is that better?

I mean they are easily top 5, possibly as high as #2, but my personal favorite to play with was also Barkley/KJ. If you have one of the cartridges where Phoenix is Majerle/KJ that changes things.

isiah > stockton is absolutely mindboggling. I honestly don't know how you could say that unless you are one of those droolers that is all "championships are the true measure of a players worth"

Also, big LOL @ Odom > Marion.

And I obv agree with Dudd re: Benjamin/Dampier. Dampier isnt horrible, but I think Benjamin is better. There really isnt a statistical category where Dampier > Benjamin. I think Ben has a bad rep b/c of the horrible teams he played for and he really didnt live up to expectations.

I guess Iggy over Melo b/c Iggy hasn't had any off the court problems and Iggy plays D. I doubt before this season most experts would pick Iggy over Melo. Iggy is also a much better passer although he does have a problem turning over the ball.
