Will tbach make it 3 PGs in a row?

As for Van Exel, eh, I guess at this point you can't do much better, but he's just one of those guys that I never would have drafted.

Also, what kind of makeup does this all-ugly team have? Cassell clearly has the PG position on lockdown, and it's just not that impressive to be a 14 time member when you are so very clearly the 2nd ugliest PG of your generation.

Yeah, they had to fudge a little and call one of them a SG. Also, Kaman doesn't exactly pretty-up my team.

Underrated defender I think similar to Battier. Had a career year in Memphis in 2003-2004 where he was awesome. Pretty injury free, not spectacular by any means offensively but really godo defensively lately. Helping Boston to win it all this year and definitely was big in Miami's title run. Average 3 point shooter, good rebounder for the swing and above average steal man.

I will not be back until around midnight tonight, however I might be able to make my pick through my iphone if the timing fits my schedule.

Otherwise I will make my pick later tonight when I get back home.

Posey, eh just seems too soon for him. I think he's still there next round and its not like the PGs get any better the longer you wait to pick one.

There really aren't a lot of above average ones left, not sure which direction he's going though. I wouldn't have picked another swing guy but I guess he thought he'd be gone but I think there are others like Posey left on the board. Not an amazing pick and if he was going for value there are much better picks imo, I think he's going for fit b/c he needs a wing defender on that team. Hill is solid but not special, Kemp was good but faded quickly and Sabonis was a beast.

I agree very tall guys are more prone to injuries, but it's not a given (Jabbar was 7'2" 225lbs, and he played at a high level for close to 20 years), and given his durability for his first 3 years I think he would stand a good chance of remaining healthy (or at the very least much healthier) if he were to start his career today. And given where other injury prone guys went (like Grant Hill went at #32 and Penny went at #75) Sampson at #180 seems like a steal.

edit: wait does tbach still not have a PG? hill runs it? Not sure I like this pick. I mean I like the fit.. Posey is a bad ass. But maybe could have gotten something better here

Sampson dropped like a rock though, GH isn't that bad and Penny still played. At 28 he was awful after 3 really good seaosns and 2 really good seasons that qualify in this league, he then had 2 decent seasons and 4 horrible seasons when he played less than 30 games in his last 3.

Round 5, Pick 186: James Posey

(Check out what a non-homer I am with the Heat picture)

It's pretty obvious I'm taking Posey for a couple of reasons:
1. He's a great defender
2. He's a good 3 point shooter (35% for his career, 54.3% TS for his career as well)
3. He's a great team player

Posey b-ref page

Posey's shooting touch during the 24-26 years were the worst of his career, which is interesting because on the same team in his rookie season (when he was 23), he looked good across the board.

Posey will play a similar role with my team as he does with the Celtics, except he'll start. His job will be to lockdown the other teams best 2/3, and to play team ball offensively, pound the glass (over 6 boards/36 in his career), and knock down open 3's.

And finally, I add a little toughness to my team. Note to the teams with Hinrich and Deng: beware.

First non-risk, little-injury guy on my roster w00t.

Team:
PG: ?
SG: Posey
SF: Hill
PF: Kemp
C: Sabonis
Bench: Durant

I tried to find some youtube clips, but it's just Posey dunking on people and Bulls fans complaining about how cool he is. Sorry guys.

Sampson was declining even before he started missing significant time though. I don't know how much that was affected by playing next to Hakeem after his rookie year, but the others you mentioned, Penny and Hill, both were playing the best ball of their lives before getting hurt, unlike Sampson.

Yeah I pick again very soon, and I wanted Posey. Sue me.

Also, what do people think of Hill running the point? It's crossed my mind. Now that I have both Posey and Kemp who weren't great passers I think it might be a bit iffy. If I got Pressey I definitely would've gone that route.

Didn't really like the pick either, depsite being a big posey fan.
Very good defender, can play 2-3 positions, good 3 pt shooter, can finish, takes charges, and great in the locker room.

All that said, he is a 6th man type. There are plenty of quality players left, some all star or near all star guys, and plenty of starter quality players.

It's all about the fit baby. I know there are better guys, but my team lacked the following qualities before Posey: good perimeter defender, badass, 3 point shooter, badass.

I think Posey fills all those. Plus Durant will get big minutes off the bench and I wanted him to have a player that I think will be effective in the league for awhile with when Kemp/Hill/Sabonis all die-ish.
