Of course there are, we are picking out of a pool of almost 30 seasons of basketball.

Its funny people actually believe teams will be picking total garbage players late in this draft. There will be serviceable players all the way through the final round of this draft.

nah, i wear soccer jerseys all the time, just not when playing basketball. it seems like it would be uncomfortable, but now that i think about it, not really. just seems a little odd.

I think theres a bunch of Agassi ones. A few 24hr locations off the top of my head: Decatur/Tropicana, Eastern/Sahara, Pecos/Wigwam....was it any of those?

Round 5, Pick 170: Kirk Hinrich

This one's simple. To fill out my starting lineup, I knew I wanted a PG who could shoot from the outside and distribute the ball to my scorers. So I plugged in what I thought were fairly modest career stats of .35 3P% and 5 A/PG into full court and checked it out. Somewhat suprisingly, the list wasn't that long and obviously most of the players were already taken. Of the ones remaining, Hinrich is the most balanced and the best fit for my team. His .377 career percentage from downtown will spread the floor. The low efficiency is mitigated by playing in the disfunctional Bulls offense of last year. Aside from that, he has shown steady improvement throughout his career.

Kirk is an above average rebounder for the position and has a relatively low turnover rate. His defense is very good, with three double digits win shares in five seasons and a 2nd team all defense award. His quickness, intelligence, and rebounding ability will help to run the transition offense effectively, setting up dunks for Big Al and Sammy or open three pointers. Kirk has also stayed healthy his entire career, playing in at least 75 games each year.

Team so far:

Kobe Bryant - SG
Al Jefferson - PF
Rashard Lewis - SF
Samuel Dalembert - C
Kirk Hinrich - PG

similar to Deng, value was much higher a year ago. But I think its a solid pick. Obviously I'm all about defense, so I like it there. However, Im not sure I'm buying your excuses for his poor efficiency, as hes only had one good year efficiency wise out of 5, so it can't be a fluke imo.

I like your team overall though.

while i agree hinrich is good defensively, the i hate DWS as a metric. i was looking at hinrich for my next pick tbh.

i'm surprised ePeen is against using coaches, he could draft McHale (who coached 31 games for the T-Wolves with a 19-12 record), and claim something or another.

Like my last two picks, this one came down two players and I was very close to picking someone else. I felt that I needed the defense though, so I went in this direction.

solid choice, very safe, but there was a better option.
