You're hedging your bets again. "hmm very good means this, not this like everyone else thinks". Basic point: Cs were filled with guys who passed the ball. They moved the ball around a fair amount. Until it got to McHale. Which is fine.. dude scored. But he played on an unselfish team and still never passed. So that's who he is.
We all need to collectively impose a McHale moratorium. There's just no point in debate any more. I think Epip has poisoned the well of voters enough that you don't have to correct/disagree with him because he isn't going to be able to convince ppl to vote for his team.

I mean...I'm not going to let any bias get in the way of how I feel the team would do and hope that everyone else does the same (although I'm sure epipen makes that hard on some of you).

Tiny was only on the team for a few years, and didn't play with Walton I don't think, so at the time the Celtics only had 2 very good passers in each year

i mean, is it bias if we don't consider McHale the GOAT?
I just want the debate to end because it's SUCH A ****ING HEADACHE TO READ WHILE I'M LOOKING FOR SOMETHING RELEVANT.

No it's not bias, I think we all know what McHale is. A very good scorer, a good rebounder and defender, and not much else. That's still a lot though. So, I guess we should all just stop talking about McHale.

Promise. It will make my lurking much more enjoyable.
Coming from a lurker, a guy who is a huge Celtics fan and saw most of their games in the 80s, I have only once seen a player get pumped up so much. I was visiting Europe in the early 90s, and everyone kept telling me Toni Kukoc is better than Michael Jordan. It was the common thought there that he'd rule the NBA.
Some of my opinions, based on actually watching these games, many in person.
-McHale was a slightly above average rebounder. With his size and wingspan, he should've been elite. Never had a knack for being in the right position, and couldn't muscle guys out. Don't compare him to Barkley who had both attributes.
-The mid 80s Celtics, particularly the '86 team, was the best passing team I've ever seen.
-McHale was not a good passer. He would rarely throw the ball to an open man unless triple teamed. Mostly because he had very poor court vision and didn't see them unless they were wide open and in his field of view.
-McHale ruined his career by playing on that broken foot. Such a waste, gets overlooked as it was bookended by Bias and Lewis.
-His postup moves were like a symphony in motion. You would see defenders just give up. So many angles, twists, moves, etc. Single covering McHale never worked.

how tilting is it that .Alex. was on 2 hours ago with no pick?
also, odds that the center that ePeen picks next round is ridiculously "something" and easily just as good as the ones taken 1, 2 or even 3 rounds previous?
