When I picked Dale it was between him and A.C. ACG is sick value at this point.

Yeah JoA, along with Seadood, horizon, and Clark are my top 4 teams right now.

I'll be honest, I had an eye on Ricky Pierce, but the only time I ever heard his name in a broadcast was from Tommy Heinsohn. And it wasn't when Ricky Pierce was playing.

PS I do think teams have to be very concerned with Rice. Hakeems gonna get his, but I think Rice is a guy you can slow down with good D. He is certainly your number 2 option, IMO.
Wow I def disagree with this

I heavily looked at Green, and I agree hes a very good pick here. The only reason I took McCray is because he can create for others much better than Green, and I wanted to have a team that could literally run through any of my 5 starters when initiating the offense so that the defense is constantly on it's heels. Solid pick JoA.

You will like my team when it's all said and done. Look it's still only half of my roster filled out. I still get 5 more picks. I really couldn't see passing up David West value wise and I really think he will fit. He doesn't congest the middle and can give Hakeem plenty of room to operate. I needed a Foward that can guard some of the bigger guys (West is 6'9) but can also step out and hit the 15-20 footer and run the pick and roll. You guys have to also realize that just because these were my first 5 picks it doesn't necessarily mean these will be my starters. With 5 more picks I have room for flexibility.

add your own names to the list from now on, as I'm leaving for the WSOP $2000 in a few minutes and won't be able to keep up(or someone else keep a tally for me please).

The couple of guys who are - Rodman, Barkley - went a long time ago or have a lot of problems (short peak, injuries, no D, inefficient). Efficient shooters, good defenders, and good rebounders mean you win a lot more games than you lose.
I'm thinking we have similar drafting philosophies. How do you think our teams would match up?

Yes you don't need 30 ppg scorers, but whose to say your 5th pick has to be your 5th starter, it could be your scorer off the bench. I can't see missing out on talent when it comes to fitting pieces, you can stiil get good role players in later rounds. It's going to be hard to get a really talented player in a couple of rounds. ACG has no real holes and would probally be a good fit on my team but I can see how people draft elsewhere.

Ricky Pierce should be awesome off the bench for KC's team. Plus his peak matches up nicely with those of his other players.

You realize this was my 4th pick, right? My 5th pick very well might not be my 5th starter, or it might be 2/3 of a wing rotation, but I thought it was important to good another good defender and rebounder for my front court. Plus I can still literally draft any position and insert them into the starting lineup.

you probably could have waited to pick ACG. most people in the draft are now selecting "whoever has been playing good since 2005". those actually taking 80's and early 90's players are already loaded with big men.

READ THIS EVERYONE!!!!!

I'm leaving to go win a bracelet now, and I don't feel like going back through the thread and counting every vote when I get back. For everyone not on this original list, your vote will only count if you add yourself(or someone else does it for you) to the list.

Was a coinflip for me between AC Green and Butler. Great pick JoA.

The A.C. pick has me thinking the Dale pick was a mistake.. not because of skill, just that he'd be available this round maybe even 6th. Like I said it was between AC and Dale for me back in the 4th round.. I prefer Dale (sacrifice a little O for slightly better D and rebounding.. otherwise very similar dudes.. plus the thought of having 2/3rds of my frontline be from the Showtime Lakers was too much to bear), but I could have gotten Brent!

Having a player of Ricky's caliber fall to me, though, is pretty sweet.

Just found this fun stat about Shareef Abdur Rahim. In 2003-2004, he played in 85 regular season games. The NBA record for regular season games played in one year is held by Walt Bellamy with 88.

Also, anyone ever look @ Artis Gilmore's stats? Only player ever with a season of TS% > 70%. Jeebus. He owns 3 of the top 5 seasons ever and 5 of the Top 10.

I have never seen him play. Any info?
