If you stop to think about it McHale must have been the worst teammate of alltime because 1) he's a very good passer who didn't pass, 2) amazing rebounder on par with Barkley who just didn't try much, 3) great defender also... I mean... IMAGINE HOW MANY TITLES THE C'S WIN IF MCHALE LIVES UP TO HIS POTENTIAL WOW

The fact that McHale played with great rebounders doesn't make him a great rebounder. Barkley is one of the greatest rebounders of all time, he is a much better rebounder than Kevin McHale. This is a fact. If McHale was close to as good at rebounding as Barkley was he wouldn't have been a much worse rebounder than Bird.

You are incredibly wrong, as usual.

good thing McHale broke his foot, otherwise there'd be no excuse for McHale rebounding exactly on par with his career in '88-'89, the year Larry missed all but 6 games of. Even though the rest of his #s were nearly identical too, we can rest assured knowing that McHale would have dominated the glass that season were it not for his foot.

No, I think he was a better defensive rebounder than McHale, but I think it's close and you can make the case that McHale was a better one (although I don't think McHale was).

You still said that you don't think Barkley is that much of a better rebounder than McHale, and then went on to qualify it. So you are already going back by saying you don't think McHale is on Barkley's level. And thats on rebounding as a whole.

you guys realize if you just say "mchale is the surest 2 points in basketball, completely owns the boards, and if he had wanted to, probably could've been as good a passer as kidd, but he was so sure in those 2 points" that you'll disable epipen from derailing this thread?

and epipen, you make a lot of good posts, but you just gotta tone it down IMO. yeah mchale's numbers are deflated by playing with bird and parish, but rebounding is a very flawed stat anyways. if you want more proof of that, look at your avatar.

1 thing about McHale, don't you think it's going to be hard to dominate in a league with 30 years of players when McHale is listed at 6-10 210 in the NBA today most big men are what 6-10/6-11 250-260. He's also not super athletic.
