It never fails, a lull in picks leads to a Epi derail on the importance of one Kevin McHale. We need Bigchips to come in and pick to restore order.

If you stop to think about it McHale must have been the worst teammate of alltime because 1) he's a very good passer who didn't pass, 2) amazing rebounder on par with Barkley who just didn't try much, 3) great defender also... I mean... IMAGINE HOW MANY TITLES THE C'S WIN IF MCHALE LIVES UP TO HIS POTENTIAL WOW

The fact that McHale played with great rebounders doesn't make him a great rebounder. Barkley is one of the greatest rebounders of all time, he is a much better rebounder than Kevin McHale. This is a fact. If McHale was close to as good at rebounding as Barkley was he wouldn't have been a much worse rebounder than Bird.

You are incredibly wrong, as usual.

If you stop to think about how ridiculous it is to keep putting words into my mouth, and to actually bother to read what i'm saying you would realize that

1) he's not a very good passer, but hes not terrible either

2) hes not an amazing rebounder, and is not on par with Barkley, he is however a very good rebounder as every scouting report I have ever read has said, and that playing alongside two great rebounders hurt his rebounding stats

3) he was a great defender, you don't get named to 3 all-time nba first team defensive teams, and 3 all-time nba 2nd team defensive teams without being one

PAULTZ

good thing McHale broke his foot, otherwise there'd be no excuse for McHale rebounding exactly on par with his career in '88-'89, the year Larry missed all but 6 games of. Even though the rest of his #s were nearly identical too, we can rest assured knowing that McHale would have dominated the glass that season were it not for his foot.

No, I think he was a better defensive rebounder than McHale, but I think it's close and you can make the case that McHale was a better one (although I don't think McHale was).

You still said that you don't think Barkley is that much of a better rebounder than McHale, and then went on to qualify it. So you are already going back by saying you don't think McHale is on Barkley's level. And thats on rebounding as a whole.

So if Barkley is a much better offensive rebounder, and a better defensive rebounder, than why are you arguing that they are close in rebounding which you have throughout the thread?

huh? I don't think Barkley is that much better at rebounding than McHale was, I think he was better but it's not like he was much better. I never said McHale was on Barkley's level in terms of rebounding, Barkley was one of the greatest offensive rebounders in NBA history...

you guys realize if you just say "mchale is the surest 2 points in basketball, completely owns the boards, and if he had wanted to, probably could've been as good a passer as kidd, but he was so sure in those 2 points" that you'll disable epipen from derailing this thread?

and epipen, you make a lot of good posts, but you just gotta tone it down IMO. yeah mchale's numbers are deflated by playing with bird and parish, but rebounding is a very flawed stat anyways. if you want more proof of that, look at your avatar.

I never said they were close, I just said that Barkley isn't MUCH better than McHale.

Do you think McHale could run point in a fix if Billups went down... then pass it TO HIMSELF LDO in the post for a gimme 2 points?

Eh I don't think I am that harsh, yes I get outa hand and argue too much about small points which is obv a leak of mine, but it just tilts me when people don't understand simple concepts like playing with great rebounders decreases ur rebounding stats etc.

And yes I obv agree rebounding stats are very flawed and are very dependant on the people u have around u, glad at least someone else agrees.

1 thing about McHale, don't you think it's going to be hard to dominate in a league with 30 years of players when McHale is listed at 6-10 210 in the NBA today most big men are what 6-10/6-11 250-260. He's also not super athletic.
