do people even think about who is on their team before drafting players? with dwayne wade, what purpose does monta ellis serve? wow. (this is bobbo, tbach and i are celebrating about celts obv but lol we had to comment on monta!)
however in your write up you said he was a solid defender. sorry dude, he's nowhere close to that yet. but he is quick and still young enough to learn. also has no range obv but he can work on that too.
monta's not the worst pick, you're gonna be a matchup nightmare considering you have two guys that can attack the paint at will. but who will setup the big men? there's also no defense to be seen.
Guys just because neither has range from 3 doesn't mean they don't stretch the floor. Wade and Monta both have real good mid range games and they are both so quick that you can't sag off because if you end up trying to run them off a jumper they will just blow by you.
This is what I have been saying all along on this forum and everyone has been eating me up for it.
Stats cannot accurately judge a players importance or overall ability. Stats are for people who play fantasy basketball, not the real game. The real game is judged by watching and observing the player and how he performs in all situations. Yes a lot of situations have stats for them, but a lot are also left out.
The problem is that personal bias renders this almost meaningless. You really do have to use stats as the backbone of your ratings. Watching can help, but stats don't lie.
I'm having sick trouble coming up with a team name. I've got the all-american quiet guys in Hill and Durant, the babymaking druggy in Kemp, and the goofy Euro in Sabonis. We need a good team identity that is symbolized in our mascot.

In year one, what team competes with Grant Hill, Shawn Kemp and Arvydas Sabonis? I don't want to toot my own horn too much, but that's an unbelievable front line.
When all those guys go down, I have the new golden child of the NBA at 24 years old. This is almost unfair.
Tim Duncan, Penny Hardaway, AK47, and Derek Harper??
