Obviously it's not the only stat that matters (or even close), but I find it interesting that 7 of the first 16 picks are players that in their entire careers have never won a championship. I think, based on the evidence presented in their careers presently, that a lot of people have been left out in favor of more trendy choices so far (I won't comment on specifics, but I'm still salivating even though I don't pick until #30).

Don't worry, Robert Horry will still be available @ 30.

Titles can be quite luck based. Management, conference, seeding, Jordan era all have big influences on ability to get a title. Remember too that its a team sport. Citing lack of titles as a negative is somewhat unfair.

Miami doesn't get a title in western conference.

I really don't get this point, especially regarding Stockton. These teams will be deeper and more talented than the teams that they played on, and most teams will have a plethora of scoring options.

You can make the case that an elite PG like Stockton who doesn't need to score to display his talents will become more valuable in this format. There will be tons of guys who can score a lot of points, but the elite PG's such as Magic, Stockton, CP3, Nash can do so much for a team without scoring.

Dirk is not so hot at defense, but neither are a couple other guys already drafted. The guy can flat out score. I wouldn't have picked him 16, but its not horrible.

i think i better go back to the beginning and read the criteria and goal of this draft because i keep reading astonishing remarks like.. dirk is better than isiah etc... my first reaction to that is maybe isiah would of let dirk carry his gym bag, maybe. isiah had more toughness in his little toe than dirk has in his whole body. can you imagine dirk being good in the nba when they could actually touch the offensive guy ?? can you imagine dirk driving the lane and getting close lined by the bad boys like they used to do pippen ??? i can't, i think dirk would of went back to soccer.

maybe i missed something, going to read the rules right now..
