Someone earlier in this thread posted a college scouting report of Hill, and it said that his main weakness was that he may be injury prone.

Yes injuring the ankle may have been a freak injury(or maybe not). However, certain players will certainly recover more quickly than Hill did.

And for those doubting Petrovic, watch these against Michael Jordan and tell me if you still think Schrempf is better (and yes I realize they are just highlights, but they are taken from 2 games with him going up vs the best).

This is all from his Boston years though, so I'm curious as to whether he's improved this past season. Any T'Wolves fans (lol) care to chime in?
this is a very interesting team imo...not sure how I feel about the SD pick yet.

I don't think anyone is saying that Grant Hill injuring his ankle wasn't freak. What they are saying is that Grant Hill had a propensity(sp?) for injuries so he likely would've suffered some seemingly freak injury and that his recovery time was not freak at all.

I agree with you regarding pickup games, as I've seen a ton of them in pickup games. However, I never saw them in any college games, as we all got our ankles taped and/or wore ankle braces every game.....its very hard to hurt your ankles with this protection imo, and I'm certain NBA players take similar precautions.

Assani, he missed ~40 games in 9 seasons (4 college, 5 NBA) before he was injured in the NBA (played 74 games that season before it happened).

i really don't see how hill isn't considered injury prone

just about every analyst who mentions him normally says these words "if he wasn't injured"
if that phrase prefaces just about every conversation of grant hill then i think it's fair to say he's injury prone

i just meant the type of injury. separated shoulders aren't very common in basketball. i would mention another but the player is undrafted that i believe defines a fluke injury

if we had known the "10% rule" I would've drafted all injured players and played the "1 of them wont play. everyone else is 100%!" card. which is gay. I would say grant et al are much higher then 10%.

I don't love his skillset, but I am shocked that he lasted so long. I obviously considered him at my last pick, but I liked DH better since hes the type of player I like.

overall ware and tear on the body will create a variety of injuries. plus guy's been getting injured non-stop since he came into the league. IMO more calcium and vitamins in his diet.

taunt me w/ the mark jackson reference

im just saying that it was pretty much universally agreed that hill was considered injury prone or else he would have gone much higher than he did.

Really? How much higher? If it was higher than 10% don't you think we'd see a LOT more career ending injuries? It's not like Penny and Hill have these awful bodies, I mean they're professional athletes, they take care of themselves.

there are lots of guys you can argue about under the freak injury thing. Grant Hill is not one of them. In fact he's probably in a select few group of guys where it's not close.
