Go ahead, I'll even join yours too, and then I'll complain about all the rules even though you were clear about them from the beginning and I'll try to get you to change them.

So another one then? lol - this reminds me of doing the all-time one of these, which basically went like:

Hay OOT I has idea!

Hay OOT I has idea again!

OOT was somewhat skeptical:

A few still participated, followed by:

"lulz, try SE n00b"

And I did, still kinda failed it in that I didn't have it nearly as well thought out as Assani does, plus modern era is way better debate.

Epipen making another draft is ****ing ******ed.

re: 80s nba sucks

If people are going to come up with the argument that first ballot HOF'rs from the 80s wouldn't be all stars in todays game, than this whole thing is ****ing pointless. If someone was a great player in 1985, they should be considered a great player for this little exercise.

agreed totally on the first point.

On the second point I almost wrote about that in the initial rules, and I totally agree with you. We have to assume that stars of the 80s would be able to compete today or else the entire draft would boil down to a "How much better are players today" debate. With that said, I do agree with the earlier point that some players(he was mentioning Stockton/Malone, which I don't necessarily agree with) might not be as good if they weren't with the exact team they were with in real life.

I think it's totally unfair to pluck dudes out of the past and put them into this league today when they had less knowledge of how to perfect their body for the game. I think it should be assumed that guys from the past get the current standard of strength and conditioning training.

I don't like the Zeke pick for one reason: you're making your primary scorer a guy who shot 45% for his career. I know it won't exactly translate, but the fg% was quite a bit lower back at best he was only an average guy in terms of fg%, at worse he was quite a bit below.

Put me in the camp that thinks several of you are overrating Thomas.

Did someone really say it was shocking I picked Stockton over Zeke?

www.basketball-reference.com plz

I really don't care if someone says they like Isiah more, its their opinion. I may think they are completely wrong, but whatever. But to say that the Stockton pick was horrible or something along those lines be fighting words yo.

Also, Isiah's best years were 21-26 essentially. He only played until 32 and since you're starting at 24 you're missing out on most of his peak.

no it's still going. Epipen just got a ton of sand in his vag and can't stand that he didn't get a top 10 pick so he started his own and then like 8 people started another one and this whole thing is all gayed up temporarily

Uh no, more like I can't stand that it has been 4 days, and I haven't even gotten to pick yet, and there are still like 7 people ahead of me, and I am actually in the top HALF of the the draft order. Also that we are allowed to take over 24 hours (ridiculous) for any round after the first, so this draft will probably be over by December.

Whatever I was in this to actually build a team, not wait 15 days for the first round (the only round with an actual timelimit too so the other rounds should go by slower since it's also harder to know who u want to pick) to be over. 1 pick every 15 days doesn't sound appealing to me, maybe it does to you guys.

It was just a joke.

I think you are right about the time frame, but I don't think a new draft should be held.

Can't there be a compromise here?

I really think this idea by Assani's is great, I just want it to reach its conclusion. There is a lot of great debate in this thread already.

Again let me state that every single pick that happened so far has been quicker than not only your initial proposed time(24 hours) but shorter than your amended time(15 hours). I've told you that I've run these things before on other sites and my way has always produced good results, yet for some reason you seem completely unwilling to consider the possibility that maybe I know what I'm talking about here and you're wrong.

Moreover this has been clear from the very beginning and rather than raising the issue before the draft started you waited until a time in which a million other people were bringing up various ideas to me that I had to quickly respond to.

I expect the picks to be made within 1-5 hours, the 15 hours is jus a saftey net to take into account people sleeping.

All I know is this draft is moving ridiculouslyyyyyyyyy slow (and this is the fastest part of the draft too, the first rounds where everyone is into it and the picks are easier) and like I said it will take 15+ days for each round to end, which means the draft should take roughly 5-6 months.
