eh yeah i guess i just saw a lot of it real quick and extrapolated. but yeah, something about this team just screams "quitter" to me. i mean i LOVE shaq, but i don't think his goofy, carefree attitude is the sort that would whip coleman into shape and that coleman could have degenerate effects on shaq's attitude. very speculative and it's not that important, just my overall sentiment.

A Sports Illustrated reporter once remarked that "Coleman could have been the best power forward ever; instead he played just well enough to ensure his next paycheck."

whether the big Aristotle be able to smack some sense into the young lad is as big an IF as coleman's fat ass

Yeah, this is the fun part. my team needs a motivator. Hmmmm.

also, that's not even the best part of the wiki. this is:

During a 1995 game featuring Coleman's Nets and rival Karl Malone's Utah Jazz, Coleman went so far as to call Malone an 'Uncle Tom'.

anyone who can say that to Karl Malone is probably a little bit crazy, bc even tho DC was a beast, malone would rip his head off

The major problem right now are that Shaq and DC are similar: They will miss alot of the regular season. (Both are likely to only play 60 games)
Um... <2 BPG, < 1 SPG every year, pretty pedestrian DWS and DRtg. Guy had a reputation for being really lazy, so I don't see where this is coming from. Also, the only rotation I see Coleman making is from the booze stand to the donut stand.

Yeah I'm expecting heat for this pick. Some, tho. I mean, as far as #3 options (even tho he'll likely be 3rd option) he's solid, and he's a huge plus defensively. Even tho he didn't live up to his talent, he still delivered a solid career.

I def. agree his problems will plague him again with the restart, but I'm hoping/banking on Shaq knocking sense into him.

I just think that with a very solid base of Shaq and EJ that you didn't need to take a potential team killer. It's already a very solid core and there were a plethora of guys you could've taken 18 picks later (without giving away bench player #2) and that also wouldn't have filled your squad with uncertainty.

The PFs drafted in this round so far:
McDyess
Otis Thorpe
Tom Chambers
Mason
Biedrins
DC

I dunno, I feel DC matches up well vs all of them, in his own right is not a roleplayer, he's a star - don't think Biedrins is quite a "star," and Mason/Thorpe/McDyess are all considered "good" roleplayers. (Well, McDyess before injury could've had a special peak but we can't be sure) Best PF of the mix there is likely Chambers, hmm.

Chambers would have been so badass with Stockton and Mullin. Blah

Fun Pacino overacting fact #78:

Did you know there was a scene in that movie where he does coke, but they cut it out. So Pacino played a scene or two where the character is coked up, but there is no evidence of it. So people just assume its Pacino overacting.

Yea I rewatched the first two last month. Its crazy how Pacino plays like the most subtle character ever, and then 20 years later he just yells a lot. Has he been in a good movie since Heat?

Ok, relating back to BBall:

1. What are your thoughts on the big man rush? Of the last 9 picks, only 2 have been non big men. Too defensive oriented?
2. Which is the best threesome and the worst in your view right now? Offensively, defensively, and total sum.
3. Best pick of this round/worst pick?

i thought al pacino was pretty solid in that movie with the dream matthew mccongigay.

seriously though I think Al Horford is the worst pick of this draft

Horford is so lol. I mean wtf. Are we supposed to magically pretend like he is going to be 20-12 for ten years or something? Most of the young guys have at least had very good seasons where we can go off of. 10-10 doesn't do the trick for me.

I pretty much hated that gambling movie. But I hate everything with Rene Russo besides Tin Cup. She looks like a tranny.

At least we got to see Mconanoiwontwearashirt get a golden shower from Armand Assanate.
