Yeah, I think after the run of excellent picks in the late 2nd/early 3rd, there have been some major reaches here. Battier, Biedrins, Mason, none of those players are anything special and similar, if not outright better, players can be found later. I still think people are underrating scoring, and after the draft we're going to find that some teams aren't going to have nearly enough offensive options.

Im with Clark, Biedrins is a shocker. Masons a reach but not as bad and I personally dont know enough about Ellis to make a judgement, he seems the best of the recent picks tho.

i also dont know what sort of value you guys have in mind for this round. i think this has been a decent round of picks - biedrins was a mild reach, same with battier / mason, but others have said they would've been gobbled up in the 4th for sure, so i think they arent hella bad (like starbury or bynum, where they would've been around for 2 if not more rounds)

I highly doubt that.

retrospectively, i see both as 4th round picks

I'm surprised people have such a hard time grasping that success at the highest level in professional sports is largely dependent upon circumstance. Someone like Tony Parker for instance is probably a 4th round pick playing Marbury's teams.

I'm surprised you are still trying to defend such a horrible pick.

How many circumstances should Marbury have gotten? 20? If he was as great as you say he was he wouldn't have been traded by 3 teams and have one team praying to god he retires.

Steph was one very skilled player - I once saw him put the ball through his legs...juke to the left and then put the ball back through his legs and pull up for a jumper...he missed the shot - but still - he had madddddd skill.

If his teams didnt become instant winners after his immediate departure - he wouldve gone in the Top 3 in this draft after Bynum and Biendris.

sidenote: I saw him shoot a swich bucket once. Hes got madddd skill.

Did Nicholas really not PM anybody a list even after last weekend when he came back and said he'd make sure to PM someone a list if he was close at all going into the weekend from now on?

Jason Kidd got traded three times too; being traded by itself is not a reflection of someone's character or ability, like you are suggesting.

Edit: and there have been plenty of "head cases" in not just the NBA but all major pro sports, who got their act together once they were in a winning situation and had a coach and teammates who knew how to keep them in line. One great example off the top of my head is Randy Moss. Where do you think he would have gone a year ago in a football draft?

Jason Kidd was an awful, awful pick at 20 regardless of any character issues he does or doesn't have.

i sent nicholas this pm yesterday at 230pm est

we all know that you cannot make any picks during the weekend because you actually have a life, go figure. there are 4 picks before yours and we probably won't reach our goal of getting to you by today. if it wouldn't be too much trouble would you mind sending me a list of 5 players in order so we can keep the draft moving

thanks,
sb

I respect your opinion, but look back in the early 1300s, a lot of people said Kidd was a good pick at #20.

yeah not sure what GKA smokin'. I preferred Payton over Kidd but Kidd has had a nice long career in which he produced at a truly elite level

I always thought Biedrins was just a Euro Chandler. I felt he was going this range, surprised people are "shocked". Not sure how I actually feel about the pick but that looks like a fun team in Nique,KJ&Beedy.

yeah it's fun which is the main reason I don't hate it. I fully support guys reaching just to get guys they want rather than clamming about most "+EV" team as if this is worth everything. f that s.
