If u take a role player (like the people infront of u) and someome that u could have gotten a round or two later and don't trade down I will be on life tilt.

Also f u guys, I am rooting for my guys (especially one of them) to get picked if I can't trade up cause Clark will obv nab one and make u guys look like fools.

I wouldn't call it sick production (relative to this draft that is).
it's sick relative to where he got him.

Round 3, Pick 95: Arvydas Sabonis

First I'm going to acknowledge all of the faults with this pick. He came into the league at 31 after he had lost some of the mobility from his salad days. He played only 26 mpg in the first 6 years of his career. He would miss anywhere from 10-20 games per season. Cool.

Now here's this:
Arvydas was the complete package. He could shoot (.574 career TS%), he could pass (3.1 assists per 36), he could rebound (10.9 rebounds per 36), and he could defend (career 97 DRtg and averaged just under 10 DWS/season). He fits in perfectly with Hill and Kemp because he'll spread the floor (he could play inside and out) and will also play great team ball, which along with Hill's great passing will make up for Kemp's passing deficiencies. With how few big men are left, I figure I'd take one that could take just about any center heads up. My team will now be a weapon on both ends, as I will space the floor, have great passing and great finishing. Now I just need to add some shooting. And there should be no doubts about my team on the defensive end as I have three VERY solid defensive players (all had great individual defensive numbers and also their teams were consistently in the top 10 in the NBA in defensive efficiency.)

Oh yeah and his PER average was 21.2. Not too shabby.

Still not convinced? Check out the youtube clip (NBA starts around 2:20, but the international clips are fun to watch as well. Also the song is da bomb so blast your speakers homie.)

Team so far: SF Grant Hill, PF Shawn Kemp, C Arvydas Sabonis

you dont understand tho - the pick is great because despite his major flaw... he has no other flaws. even at 31 sabonis was a super stud. offensively and defensively was just sick. so you can only play him 30 mins tops - fine. so he has a chance of getting injured that is high, like the rest of his team - fine. so he will play 1 "tournament" and probably a non factor in the 2nd - oh well.

in terms of talent tho, def best pick here, sabonis was NOT a role player, he was a stud, and at this point, there arent that many studs around.

re: the anthony mason pick: lol, takes 4 days to pick him. (well, not really) that said, i like him alot, he showed he could play in a defense minded system first (those knick teams) and also had a decent offensive game (hornets teams where he put up big numbers). really good defender. he's a guy who prolly slipped some radar screens - i am just not sure the fit tho, since manu and nash will be runningggggggggggg and as others have said, a mason was a tubby.

biggest problem with anthony mason pick is ruining the only chance at a legit all white guy starting squad.

QFT - Sabonis is damn good.

The Portland team w/ Rasheed, Sabonis and Pippen was for real, before Scottie and Sabonis finally fell off. Sabonis is one of the few centers to play Shaq in the playoffs, in his prime and get a draw. They were within a 4th quarter collapse of beating the Lakers in the WCF and a likely NBA title.

yeah. i feel like the one thing the nash era suns have missed is some toughness provided by a player other than nash. mason really delivers that.

mason was awesome. had he not played in the worst system ever and with 2 or 3 black holes his numbers would've been insane - 18/11/7 insane. the way he could handle and pass - wow. he could also play a TON of minutes. and was obv a complete badass.
