I am meh on the finley pick. Decent, but he is neither very efficient on O nor that great on D. Still, he was very athletic in his prime, and can knock down the 3, so he definitely gives you some options on offense.

Sammy, not sure why you think we are only concerned with the player's five-year peak here. Longevity definitiely counts for something in this format.

I agree with Serg. Funny about Finley is he actually was quite productive until he turned 31, which means you get 7 quality years from him, not just 5.

Sammy must be confusing the rules with the Premiership Draft rules, where you get a player for whatever you deem his five year peak to be.

good pick IMO. pretty athletic for a white guy, and the PnR with KJ was money (growing up was a fan of kj, so that was one of the few teams I watched). was considering him with my pick, but the fit wasn't what I wanted (defense, blackness, and explosiveness)

I actually wanted agguire real bad, then it was gonna be between thorpe , random 2 players and chambers. I took chambers because his ability to score from all over the place to spread the court and very durable and played many games.

Reasonably decent value. Really crappy rebounder for a big man, but the dude was definitely a big-time scorer.

Best white dunker evaaaaa

And that wasn't even his best. I just wanted to put it up to show that McHale didn't guard their best players

(it's merely average) i have seen shane play alot, and would never argue about his defense, but his offense is basically:
Stand around at the corner 3pt, if ball is tossed to him, take an open 3 if there (3.2 a game @ 38.9%, fantastic) or kick it back out to whomever is running point. He is the exact opposite of "versatile" on the offensive end. His FTA for his career is 2.2 a game. Man, people need to sell me a ton harder that this is a good pick, because I'm not buying it. Sorry TD.
Do you remember saying this 2 hours later in Kyle's sabr thread:

problem is PER has its flaws, too.
PER doesn't tell Battier's story at all, you know this too. You try to use it like it supports your argument or something.

Battier is essentially the case against PER. He rates VERY highly in Win Score and Adjusted +/-. PER is gonna underrate the two things Battier does well: shoot efficiently at a low rate and play very strong 1v1 D.

Chambers! Love the pick, good longevity, peak at 27/10, which is insane to get a guy like that at this point in the draft.

Oh and the dunks! White Dunks! So white!

On further look, Grant might be better than I had previously thought. LBJ is a better passer than Jordan so more open looks and Grant excels around the basket (pretty much the only place offensively).

I think Im really liking the way darko's team is shaping up (dwill/Marion/battier). 2 very solid forwards defensively which should really make up for deron's shortcomings in that area. This team really should be able to run. There are a couple centers that I can think of that would look real nice on this team, if darko's going in that direction.

Pick is up, it's Hersey Hawkins. One of the great shooters in NBA history, a career .394 three point shooter, one spot behind Reggie Miller on the all time list. With McGrady and Parker, we should have no problems getting the defense to collapse, and Hersey should be able to make the defense pay. This does define my next two rounds, I have to go big, but it was universally agreed after the Parker pick that I needed an outside shooter or else the lane would be quite clogged, and now I have one.

Damn, I was looking at him. Do you think good bigs will be as readily available in the next two rounds. Your obviously going to look more defensive but then again there are definitely guys who have trouble scoring but play good defensively left, they will be black holes but you have 3 guys who can score already.

To be honest, I have no idea. I have a few names I think might be flying under the radar, but I haven't made out a list of my top 30 bigs or anything, so for all I know, they could go in the next few picks. It's risky, having no interior defense this late, but I'll deal with that problem when it happens.
