Camby is outstanding value in this spot.

I think it's a good pick. I would have taken Camby with Dirk or Camby with Lebron or Magic. I think he's a pretty underrated player but fell b/c of injuries. Also not a huge fan that offensively he's more of a shooter than a post scorer.

very nice pairing with Jordan. Him being a glass man was the main reason I avoided him. Plus the white thing.

Wow. Initially if someone took Camby I'd have said he went too high, but MJ is arguably the one player who this works with. I have to think about that more, but initially it seems like a great duo.

ya cause ur old enough to have seen McHale play so u know everything about his game right?

Sorry to break it to u basketball referance nerds, but you can't find a lot of stuff on there, like for example how fast someone makes their inital move when they get the ball in the post which is the thing u quoted me on etc.

If you go straight baller I have a perfect pick for you.

horace grant being seriously undersold - the general was a great post defender, good passer, great #3 scorer with good moves to the basket. Awesome rebounding efficiency too esp. considering bulls' rotating center situation.

He's an excellent post defender, and off the ball defender. His TS% is low (50%) but PER pretty high for a great defender. 98 career DeRat is really, really good. He's also been limited to about 32-33 mpg which is a little low.

Eddie Jones has a clean bill of health, as well - from the age of 24 to 34, he missed a combined 54 games (Or fewer than 6 games/year).
this is actually a detriment in this league. while a guy like penny has a chance of being more healthy (assani has ruled out he could actually fall apart faster), a guy who never got hurt doesnt have a chance to be healthier. he will get hurt a certain percent of the time.

Also I think a break in the draft for more discussion might be needed - so many picks we've barely discussed the pairings.

Also kidcollin fwiw Camby was one of the bigmen who I thought was better than Vlade. Obv injuries are a concern though.

kc, can't tell if you're kidding or not, but what do you mean by "racially pure"? Serbs are white.

I was more referring to young players with tremendous upside or gambles who could be MVP/All-nba players or atleast look like they can become. Jones is definitely going to be a solid contributor on your team but he'll never be an MVP candidate especially in this league. Arguably there are probally still some multi-all-nba level talents in the league who are really young, but they are a huge gamble. So Eddie Jones to me is great value but a risk taker might take a player (hard to really judge) that could be outstanding for a long time or could suck every year after this one. Of course I won't name names but obviously they are under 25 guys.

pairings are overrated.

im taking mcdyess, but am leaving to go play basketball, so no writeup

i plan on noting that his injury was a sudden occurance (in which he dislocated his kneecap, sprained his MCL and partially tore his patella).

its just very telling about your style of debate. u bring up these tidbits that there is really now way to prove and act like they are the be all, end all.

also, now i picture u staying up late searching the net for articles about mchale so u can make some arbitrary argument that mchale is better in some miniscule facit of the game.

wasnt trying to argue whos better. just laughing at u for bringing it up.

I think you're right, Camby would've been a sweet pairing with those guys, but he's still a sweet pairing with MJ.

I hate Camby's offensive game so much, it's basically stand 3 feet in front of the 3pt line and attempt an awkward rainbow jumpshot or throw an alley oop.

Vlade > Camby imo. Better passing, better scoring. Huge health disparity. Not as good defensively, but still solid.

Camby + MJ is VN. Camby was high on my list of bigs but the Bambi thing really scared me. Though alot of the bigs left also have injury concerns. Nice pick though.

uh so I did research on McHale by finding people who actually saw him play with their own eyes, so I could get a better idea on how good he was, then brought it up here?

Would you rather me just go strictly off basketball referance and nothing else, since everyone knows stats are misleading sometimes.

Camby is a lot better rebounding too. Defense and Rebounding much more important than passing/scoring (especially since Camby has a pretty good jumpshot anyway) when u have someone like Bird on your team.

I am not a fan of either, but depending on what role you want that player to play would sway my opinion.
