Yeah I'm warming up to Vlade. I think initially I disliked the pick because I thought Vlade would drop a little further down but I did think someone was going to get good value on him, so it's pretty good late 2nd.

Vlade is a good pairing with Bird, but then who isn't?
Penny Hardaway, Stephon Marbury

I hate the Penny pick a lot.

Its also going to be annoying listening to the argument that he might not get hurt and that he is a top 20 player blah blah blah.

He makes Grant Hill look like Malone, and I think people are overrating how good he was before his career tanked.

Someone PM me the best values left. I'm not in the draft. I just want to see what's out there without doing too much research ldo.

I had the same question earlier. Apparently a winner will be picked somehow but it is not yet decided how. There is I believe another thread somewhere where ideas are discussed, perhaps a panel of judges - knowledgeable BBall people who aren't participating. If you have any thoughts on how a sim could be done I'm sure people would be interested. For now though, the journey seems to be it's own reward.

eh i'd say second best, i'd rank Jordan slightly above McHale. No one else though.

1. Jordan
1a. McHale
3. Who cares they are all much worse

He was 10th and 3rd in the league MVP voting the two years before he first got injured.

+1. My idea of value is fixated too much on today's players.

ok but there are plenty of downgraded vesions of Parish who are still left (and some who are better than Vlade imo) only major flaw is they aren't white, can't obv give out the names until they get picked ldo.

getting 3rd and 10th in MVP voting for two seasons doesn't make you a top 20 player of the past 30 seasons.

iyo is wrong imo. And white has nothing to do with it. Serbs aren't racially pure!

Laimbeer was ideal obv but I had no shot at him.

MVP rank in 1995/96:

1. MJ
2. Robinson
3. Penny
4. Hakeem
5. Pippen
6. Payton
7. Malone
8. Kemp
9. Hill
10. Shaq
11. Stockton
12. Barkley

Look at the players he finished above - he was pretty good (or at least, very highly regarded).

Nash also won the MVP 2 times in a row and finished ahead of Kobe, Lebron, Duncan etc.

Clearly Nash is better than all of them, so is Dirk who won it the year after Nash.

No, but very good, and would be quite a value with the 75th pick.

Thats all it was though, one awesome season. Claiming he could be a top 20 player (and valued at that for this draft) because of one season is pretty ludicrous to me.

He had one other very good season, and some good seasons where he played <60 games. I think its a huge reach here, and hate the fact that people can make huge reaches on guys like Penny and hide behind the "he might not get hurt" thing. If Penny isn't a huge risk to have his career derailed than no one is.

Nobody ever said he IS a top 20 player for the last 30 seasons. IF he was never injured AND he maintained the level of performance of his first few years, he probably would have been regarded in that category. I was just responding to the "people overrate how good Penny was before the injury" statement - he was very good, and you of all people should agree that this format makes him a good value at #75.

Yes I realize that (same thing I have been arguing about McHale to a lesser extent), and I don't think Penny would be considered a top 20 player over the past 30 years.
