Pretty ironic coming from you, always nagging people to make cogent arguments and everything. Maybe you could try practicing what you preach.

Boozer is average at defense at best. That team is going to get murdered inside.

Can Dirk keep up with elite SFs on defense? I really really doubt it, but neither Dirk nor Boozer can guard elite centers so I dunno what hes gonna do there.

Mullin is also a very good passer and rebounder for a 3, I really see no downside to the pick. Pairing two extremely efficient players together isn't a negative.

Stockton will also be better at penetrating with the guard friendly rules of todays game.

Now tell me why its not a good fit. Because Mullin isn't a PnR big man? Not buying it.
You've got two very high usage players who play completely different styles. Mullin was successful with Nellie's fast-paced game, then he went south as soon as Adleman became the coach. His team did very well with Bird, but he never quite enjoyed the success. Obviously it's not just the system, but that's the key proponent. Stockton was a half-court guy, good on the break, but a dominant half-court PG.

And finding a great PnR big man who can shoot lights out and have the ability to roll and finish is quite rare, you usually get one or the other.

I'm not saying it was a bad pick, it was a very good pick. I'm just not as high on it as some others.

Stockton is the 2nd best defensive pg taken so far, so please tell me how he isn't athletic enough to thrive in this.

Mullin will get me 25/5/5/2 at 50/90%'s. So no, I'm not buying it. I'll be able to get all the athletes I want in this draft, finding incredibly efficient guys that fit into multiple systems (and both were BPA at each slots!) is very hard to do.
I was trying to make fun of the stereotype that all white players are unathletic and slow, because in fact you have two white players that are definitely athletic enough to do very well in this league.

Sorry, hard to keep up. I mean Marbury just got picked, not the right time to level lol.

I thought it might have been a level, but couldn't tell.

One thing about Robertson was that he had a ton of off the court issues and was forced to retire early due to back problems.

Still, like Mullin he represents solid value right now. He was a defensive monster who didn't need to take a lot of shots.

Mullin was declining before Adelman took over. The last full year of Nellie he got hurt (and he was 30). Under Adelman he had a pretty efficient year, with a ts% of like .645.

I disagree that Boozer needs a great playmaker. Offensively I don't see any differences between him and Elton Brand who went much earlier and the pick was widely praised. Main difference overall is that Brand blocks shots.

Holy crap getting Jermaine O'Neal when he is 24 is so bad. You get two good seasons and then a bunch of injury-marred, attitude-filled mediocrity.

Marbury is just god-awful, especially after hyping up the pick forever.

Mullin has far too much value right now to be concerned with the pairing.
I wouldn't touch Marbury. The fact that he didn't want to play with KG scares me.
Boozer's probaly one of the worst defender I've ever seen, very bad combo with Dirk.

I looked at O Neal because even though I hate his offense(51.1 TS% is just horrible for a big man), I love his defense coupled with Tim Duncan's. And I could have him take a lot less shot attempts with more stars around him. But then I saw his games played since he turned 24: 77, 78, 44, 51, 69, 42. Hes just not worth it imo.

I wonder if who Bobos wanted was picked while he is banned. He wanted to trade up pretty badly.

Great analysis, even better than Assani's "LOLOLOLOL". What were you expecting, Jesus ****ing Shuttlesworth?

It can go both ways. His volume went down when their system changed, even when Chris was healthy. I don't think the two are unrelated.

Thats because of the lack of quality big men in the Eastern Conference during the early part of this decade, not because JON is deserving of being a 6 time all star.

A fictional movie character playing for Big State would have been a much better pick.
