Boozer is a very good value pick here. It'll be interesting to see how he pairs up with Dirk. Will Boozer have to play the 5 and leave Dirk at the 4, or will Dirk be a 3 and dtemp gets another big man in later rounds.
How good/bad is Boozer's D. I know offensively/rebounding he is strong but I don't watch enough Utah games to really judge his D. I know he doesn't block shots but how bout 1 on 1, and help?
I would have loved to have Boozer with Robinson or something, but man, you're gonna need a distributor ASAP and you're almost punting defense.
Not that Dirk is a terrible defender. He's okay, but he never really guards the premier big man.
Good thing with this is you create some matchup problems. If you get a couple good wing defenders maybe you could get away with double teaming bigs or something. Maybe if you get a defensive specialist down low to rotate, I dunno. This pairing creates lots of problems.
Yes, Boozer is bad with Dirk. But Boozer this early is worse. No D, one dimensional and dependant on a great playmaker for lots of his value. I'm guessing its about 20-25 picks too soon.
The Boozer pick w/ Dirk handcuffs the rest of your picks. Do you go big next round when you need a point but if you get a point then you are going to be playing small. Just not a great pairing.
Can I make my pick now because it's a point guard, and moose and franchise already picked Thomas and Stockton so I seriously doubt either of them is taking my pick.
I guess you could put Dirk at the 3, Boozer at the 4. There are still some sick post defenders left who can't score although you could easily clog up the lanes and Dirk would be a huge liability defensively on the perimeter.
