I just realized that KLJ traded down and still got Sidney Moncrief. Good God thats sick drafting there.

I just want to say that was a SICK pick with Parker at the #63 slot. I am really suprised he fell that far. Excellent pick.

this is somewhat clueless, tony parker is a beast, and can hold his own defensively. he's better where he's relied upon to carry more of a scoring load, but with tmac you can even use tmac at the point and tony parker in a monta ellis role. its kinda cool, i can see this working

Parker plays in a really crappy assist environment, like kbfc says. First of all, they're sloooowwww. Second of all, the Spurs only hit on 2900 buckets this year, 25th in the league. Parker himself took (and hit) the second most shots on the team. In fact, he hit about 18% of his team's shots. Then, they really rely on swinging the ball around to hit the open 3 pt shooter, so Parker's probably getting hurt by "hockey assists." Finally, he only plays 33m/game.

I mean, if he plays for a normal team he's gonna get like 8, maybe 9. I don't think he would ever lead the league or anything, though.

the probelm with the specific pick tho is it handcuffs his team needs badly; neither tmac nor parker is a great jump shooter, both (even with elite bigmen who draw double teams) shoot a poor 3pt %, and rely on the ball in their hands. they will NEED bigmen who can pop, otherwise the paint will be pretty clogged.

Really really tilted. Nicholas PMed me back at 6:30AM my time saying: "i'll do this trade if u pm me to confirm in the next 20ish minutes before I post my pick". Obviously I just woke up so I missed out on him. And then my guy was taken within the next few picks.

Sidney Moncrief was the guy I had really really wanted(Seadood I tried to be as honest as possible without giving it away when you PMed me about him). I won't go into details now, but I think hes by far the steal of the draft.

It just sucks for me that Nicholas actually would've done the trade but we just weren't on at the same time(despite me being on 10+ hours per day!!!!) and then my guy goes a few picks later.

I still may be interested in trading up, but I'm not as willing to pay a huge price now.

I am glad to see a lot of picks made and a few pages worth of discussion. I'll be sure to catch up on all of that when I have a chance later today.
for the record, when i asked about deron, i still wanted to trade up to take moncrief. but after talking with kbfc, he convinced me that he would slip to me. alas, he did not.

I think Moncrief should've been a mid/late 1st round, I feel that strongly about him.

Yes, I definitely regret this. I wish it could be that you get them at any age you want. Unfortunately I think too many people have already altered their strategies when drafting to change it. Wish someone would've brought this up beforehand for sure.

It's blatantly obvious that many people are hugely biased towards 2000s players.

That's right. Blame it all on me!

We had that discussion after pick #48 (Shawn Kemp), and I thought Moncrief wasn't yet in the picture. I suggested, if you were going to trade up, to do it for Deron instead, who ended up going at #49 vs #60 for Squidney. I guess I underestimated how high he'd go, but I still think Deron was the better choice if you were going to trade up, especially to play with Shaq.
