I'm starving, so I need to go get lunch, but if I wasn't, the way I'd counter this is by looking at team assists/possession, and then looking at assists by players like Bowen and Finley (90% of which are going to be swinging the ball after a TP drive'n'kick).
The Spurs don't play an offensive system geared toward putting up big assist numbers at PG. How much you want to take that account is up to you, but I just listed some things I'd take a look at in considering it.
There was a great post by someone in my Sample Size thread that made the point that all of these stats we use only measure what was done, not necessarily the skill that went into doing it. Something to think about when discussing any player.
